just a quote...
Got this from zi xin who got this from mrs tan choy ping...
"It is better to be a something in a nothing than to be a nothing in a something..."
and i added this part...
"...this is so that u can make a something out of that nothing and not remain a nothing in that something."
basically the idea is that one does not learn much if he does not get himself involved in whatever or whoever he is working for. so folks, in whatever u do, make sure u put your heart and soul into it, otherwise it ain't worth your time!!!
Cheers.

looking forward & thinking back...
a whole new year will start tomorrow, and a whole new school year will start in 2 days time. i'm looking forward to a new experience, since i've been out of a co-ed system for 4 years. there will definitely be a different way in which i view girls in jc, especially since in primary school we were quarreling most of the time :p haha primary school was fun... from playing hopscotch in primary 1 and 2, to playing table tennis in primary 3 and 4, and finally playing soccer in primary 5 and 6. in secondary school....sec 1, 2 and 3 mainly soccer, sec 4 mainly basketball, soccer, badminton, some tennis now and then. wonder how next 2 years will be like. most probably have less time to play all these sports. wonder what kind of drastic effects being a CI will have on my life. will definitely be more busy, since i've gotta take 2 CCAs next year, but at least we're taking less subjects :p only 5, GP, chinese, and hopefully maths econs and physics. will be seeing numbers in my sleep in a while. wondering how messy the place will be on friday. hopefully i don't end up with a bunch of irritating IJ girls in my OG, otherwise i might just flip out and go nuts....hmmmm.....
Cheers.

last saturday of the holz...
woke up at 10.10, then rushed to tanglin to meet up for a 2 hr badminton game. played 2 hrs non-stop again, but this time was more intensive. got people like ben tay, victor and zhi hong, all quite good. also got brian, ian yap, pradeep and donovan. played in 2 courts. played one doubles match with donavan, against brian and pradeep. lost that set 2-1, was really funny the way we'll played.
after that, played with victor, in another doubles match against zhi hong and ben tay. that one we won, but because victor is school badminton team lah, but not that i didn't play :p my smashes have improved, especially my backhand one, only that my netting still sucks. as in i can return when the shuttlecock's at the net, but i cannot hit the shuttlecock to near the net. guess i'll work on that in my own free time.
after the whole thing, came home makan lunch. after lunch my right shoulder blade started aching. guess overstretched a few muscles. spent the rest of my afternoon playing GTA 4 and going ntuc shopping. quite a sub-standard day lah. fell asleep on the sofa after dinner. woke up at 10+, and now typing blog entry.... watching a WWII movie on the german invasion of russia. mainly about the birth of snipers. quite cool, considering it's a movie about WWII. come to think of it, i like all movies about WWII. there was a movie during the CI BTC which was the life story about hitler, couldn't watch it, wasted :(
oh well looks like the 1st holiday in 4 years without holiday homework is coming to an end. next time will be in 2 years. less than a week to go. before i know it i'll be writing an entry here about my 1st day in JC. whoosh............Cheers.

christmas & boxing day...
i wonder why they call this day boxing day....maybe some time back alot of people got involved in some bar brawl or something, boxed the hell out of each other or something :p maybe over some christmas presents... hmmmm....
anywayz christmas eve dinner was nice. had ham, beef and turkey. baby back ribs, potatoes. meaty food.....all i need to put on weight again :) so eat eat eat, stuffed down the food, bloated, but a good feeling :p left house at 10.30 for midnight service. was an ok service, sang sang sang, dozed off during the sermon AGAIN...ahem ahem. got home at about 1, watched CSI and ate more, some rasin cookies, filling stuff. realised that i'm the opposite of alot of people, people wanna lose weight while i wanna gain it, i'm a rare gem in singapore society!! :)
christmas morning got up at abt 9.30. ate mee pok for breakfast, then slacked arnd until 11.15, left for aunt's house for christmas lunch 1. the cuttlefish balls were great, i ate like 10+, nearly 15 i think. then got curry puffs, nor hiang (or however u spell it), mee siam, bee hon, chicken wings, some funny desserts tt i didn't eat. eat tok eat tok until 2.30, then left fr my dad's cousin's house for christmas lunch 2. there got spagetti, ham, garlic bread, durian cake and cheese cake. but i was too full from all the cuttlefish balls, so i only ate the ham and garlic bread. it was good, mixed them together, got an interesting taste. night time had spagetti. the sauce was nice, could've eaten it alone, with no noodles, but too bad there wasn't enough. slept at 2.30 in the end, playing computer and watching godzilla on axn and the ending of shallow hal on star movies.
boxing day morning, woke up at 9, due to a certain incident i shan't mention. later on going for meeting. won't write here what i feel about it, got alot in my mind about the whole thing...kinda worried. oh wells looking forward to next friday. new environment, which also means new challenges. at least i have quite a few familiar faces that i'll be seeing. should make the experience less....frightening shall i say? or just uneasy.....
Cheers.

been a week...
long time since i updated me blog. since then, nothing too special has gone on. on saturday went to He Yao Shan's live concert at city harvest church with cindy. apparently brendan went at the same time as me but didn't see him or his hair :p after that went out her and some of her church friends to jurong point eat yong tao fu...spent 5 bucks on it, but didn't feel 100% full.
sunday my cousin came to stay over at my house. he's still staying over until january, as his dad wants him to study damn hard for his GCSE exams in june next year. so he's been going to my aunt's house everyday to study there, as there is absolutely nothing that can distract him in their house, and that completely sucks. thank goodness my exams are over, or else i might be joining him!!!
monday went to school for 1st training and meeting as a PCI. not much of a different feeling. improvements in every department, although sense of urgency is still leaving me a bit worried. flagpole team is doing good, just gotta tighten their lashings a bit more. clocks are fine, but tension still lacking and time for securing is taking way too long. tent pegging team currently taking 20 seconds to start pegging, gotta cut it down to 10, and they gotta figure out their twine snapping problems, both of these through experience lah.
yesterday the basketball pole arrived. shortest height is 7.5 feet, tallest is 10 feet. right now playing with 9 feet. tall enough for me lah... after that went to meet lizz and becca at clementi sports hall for a round of badminton. ended up playing for 1 hour, 2 hours short of my previous longest time. well since becca was tired and there was no way that lizz was going to play, so came home and played basketball with my new pole :)
ah yes finally got my music back, still sticking with my james bond tune, as not much else really interests me, unless u want me to put the metallica version of the star wars theme. christmas is tomorrow, christmas tree not up this year in fear that zen my husky will chew it up, since she's already destroyed the rubber mat outside my house. going to collect turkey and what not with my mum later, not that i'm complaining. following my 16 year tradition i didn't buy any christmas presents for anyone this year.... but i haven't sent out any e-cards this time, maybe i'll get down to it later if my mum doesn't have any more things for me to do. most likely going to midnight service tonight (or tomorrow morning, whichever u fancy), been trying my best to catch up with my sleep debt, but the holz has wizzed by so quickly, must sleep more!! have a merry christmas to all reading my blog :) Cheers....zzzzzzzzzz

End of CI BTC....
it all ended on tuesday...2 long weeks of trainings and a 4 day camp wizzed by and it's now all over. made many new friends, learnt many new things, and i'm beginning to miss the people there (believe it or not). echo squad has been a great squad to work with from day one...although there are certain people there who irritate me, but the number of people who are great overwhelm the buggers :p just the echo namelist for me to remember:
Girls:
cindy
jocelyn
wendy
jasrina
farhana
cee teing
wiwiek
diana
shi jia
raudah
Guys:
darren
jun jie
jin kai
dennis
daniel
cun wei
rizal
faddil
zairul
asri
gary
kim hock
dickson
CIs in-charge:
Qin Hao
Yi Teng
i think that's all....*counts* yup tt's all. 24 people in echo squad....24 people who went through the exactly same shit as me (well more or less), and i believe that it is this shit that brought us all closer together.
on tuesday when the final training day ended, it just HAD to rain. but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as we all stayed in the drill shed for a while just snapping up pictures, still haven't finished my roll of film though. after that around 16 of 24 headed out in the rain to pizza hut at PS. rizal managed to get a lobang of 10% for us!!! haha.... ate 6 slices of pizza and 1 bowl of mushroom soup. was a nice and filling dinner. but the interesting part came at the end of dinner, as i used the napkin to calculate how much each person had to pay. never did that before, another new experience :p after that walked around in PS for a while, girls went neoprinting...while the guys just stood arnd outside waiting, talking, disturbing the peace ;) we'll parted ways at the mrt station, it was like some airport scene, where people were going away, but in fact people were going away, because we never knew when we might actually see each other again!! it was a sad moment...
well even after CI BTC, i'm still going back to PA everyday till friday. preparation for NPCC day parade 2004. today was the 1st session. 3.5 hrs of rifle drill....phew it was tiring, and i've confirmed that i've learnt the skill of dozing off during drill sessions, but still being able to subconsciously do the drills :p (cadets don't try this at training) tomorrow going back to SJI (1st time in abt 3 weeks) to look for GSM. need his approval for me to help in NPCC day parade. hoping to complete my probation requirements by the time the deadline is over. 1 parade, 1 course and 2 functions. and i have absolutely no idea what falls under functions :( on the up side...there's a 99.9% chance that i'll be posted back to SJI, since ben didn't go for ATC, and he's gonna be stuck with HQ for the next 6 months of his life, which is gonna be a hell of a 6 months. i kinda pity him, coz he practically wasted 2 weeks of his holz just to be posted back to PA to be a slave for the next 6 months.
posting results came out today...CJC science for 1st 3 months. no complaints from me, but the question is now whether i'll stay there after release of O level results... coz CJC is the best place for convenience sake. it's sandwiched between PA and SJI, 2 places where i'm gonna have to go quite often for the next 1.5 years. oh wellz will think about that later. oh yah found out that dear old cindy didn't register for PAE, so went to CJ to register TODAY!!! absolute madness, but she got 16 pts, so shouldn't be too hard, unless there are alot of people like ian, who get 7 points and still applied for CJC!!! depriving people with pathetic points from a place in the few JCs that they can choose from. so far only 3 people who's going CJ science...neo jr, shaun and ian. gotta find more...
only 2 weeks of holz left, ok make that 1.5 weeks. up till now i haven't caught up with my sleep debt, but at least i've covered my exercise debt, no problem with that one :p enjoy your holz ppl, coz it'll be over before u know it!! Cheers.

CI BTC ATC....
just got back this afternoon..... tired, hungry, itchy. went to weigh myself...just for fun, turned out to be 63 kg, which means i somehow lost 5 kg in 5 months!!! that is so not the way man!!! i don't even want to lose weight, and i'm losing a shitload of it!!! anywayz before i get into the more "intimate" details, just some figures for you to absorb...
0 - the number of pushups given as punishment
1 - number of pants i wore in 4 days
1 - number of times i showered in 4 days
2 - number of times i pissed a day
2 - number of t-shirts i wore in 4 days
3 - number of sleeping boards given to each tent
3 - number of jerry cans of water used up by my group
4 - number of days of camp
4 - number of days of camp that it rained
4 - number of people in one tent
4 - the number of times it started and stopped raining on the 1st day
5 - the average number of biscuits i ate for breakfast
4 - the average number of hours i slept each night
7 - my group number....URANUS!!! :P
9 - number of jerry cans given to each group for use
19 - my tent number
uncountable - the number of bites on my body
now for the details...1st day i somehow managed to lose my poncho, so stayed in the canteen, making myself look busy, after that i don't think anything else interesting happened.....will add if i can remember..
2nd day PT quite standard lah, warm up>5BX>cool down, nothing too extreme, only that we did it in mud. so pushups and crunches were in mud, so "cool". after that went pioneering, built a chair that didn't really stand really well, but i'm beginning to see the fun of pioneering, even though it is a time consuming process, but u feel good at the end of it when u see what u tied actually standing. lunch, a few forks full of maggi mee, a few pineapple slices, and that was lunch. orienteering, IT SUCKED!!!!! the CIIs made us stop at every single corner to take map and ground bearings, count paces and all that crap, when we knew exactly where we were on the map!!! oh well i guess tt's orienteering, so what to do?? wasted 4 hours of my afternoon walking around pulau ubin with a map and compass :p
3rd day PT exactly the same as 2nd day, breakfast exactly the same as the previous day, after breakfast went kayaking....fun fun, paired up with yan siang, capsized once by accident, coz my left arm kinda buckled then i leant too far to the left, and i next thing i knew, i was looking into green water and was trying to stop myself from choking to death. at first i couldn't get the correct technique of kayaking, but after a while, with a few scares here and there i finally managed to get it, then managed to overtake alot of ppl :) lunch, sama sama lah, not much difference. after that was rafting, but only thing was it kept raining, so we had to tie the raft wearing our ponchos, which was always a hassle as it was always in the way!!! simple design and it served it's function, floated damn well, and when we did take it out for rowing, the current was so strong that once we stopped rowing, we immediately started drifting :p luckily they anchored us to shore with rope. overall rafting was more fun then kayaking, and rafting is only offered at CI BTC ATC :) so if u guys wanna raft, go CI BTC ;) at night didn't have to cook, had a buffet :) the food was nice, could have gone for 3 rounds, but only had time for 1 as had to prepare for campfire. so went to boat shed, bring the firewood to the council ring, stack it, bring over the twigs from the training shed, and low and behold, it kept drizzling..........so had to hold it in the canteen. the atmosphere was fantastic.....best campfire i've ever attended, only thing was that there was no fire :( all our time taken from lunch and dinner soaking firewood gone down the drain along with the rain water that caused us so much grief :p
This morning PT was cancelled for some unknown reason, but i ain't complaining. area clean up, had to clear the firewood from the council ring, and bring all of the other firewood over back to the training shed. whole morning was drizzling, so everyone just walked around without a ponchom since we all had gotten used to it already. after area clean up was the grand finale, a telematch between all the 8 groups. stations were in order of sequence, kayaking>lamp lighting>knots & lashings> orienteering>tent pitching. i chose to do knots and lashings, not much a problem, only thing is that i forgot how to tie fireman's chair, dang it. after grand finale had camp closing ceremony, stood in a huge circle, CIIs came around to shake everybody's hand, mainly saying either "keep up the good work" or "try harder". got back to mainland and PA by 2.30, one hour earlier than stated, but good good, still no problem.
2 more days of CI BTC, i miss echo..... mainly becoz been with echo since the beginning of the course, so all been through the same shit, hopefully the spirit is still there for the final 2 days. must bring a camera, snap a few shots for memory's sake. oh yes...and i'm still banned from the locker room!!!!! must ask those CIIs after the course y the hell i cannot go there anymore!!! oh well 2 weeks is over in an instant, CI BTC isn't so bad after all, learning many new things, experiencing many new happenings, working with the elites from all the units is a great feeling. we've kinda promised each other to invite each other to their unit's functions in the future, for reunion sake...and i think tt's a great idea!!! :D oh well still gotta kiwi boots, iron uniform, standard for next 2 days has to be the highest, as we are gonna graduate soon :)
P.S. everything stated here abt CI BTC are the more fun aspects, i'll put up the not-so-fun aspects tomorrow, so if u think tt CI BTC is all about fun, wait till u read the next entry...
Cheers.

1st week of CI BTC...
it's not been as bad as i expected it to be. at the end of the first 2 days, i felt like quitting, then after the 3rd day when i was squad i/c, the thought never ever crossed my mind again. probably because i had gotten used to the environment, and because i knew the ppl in echo much better. learning quite alot from echo members, mainly because they all come from different schools, all different backgrounds, different school cultures... and not everybody has heard of SJI *stunned*
been doing alot of things during the course, drills, tent pitching, lamp lighting, flagpole erecting, pioneering (built a catapult), orienteering (fiddled with compasses and maps), lectures, planning campfire for ATC, trying to remember all the CIIs names (reminder: deadline is tuesday), and shooting the 0.38 S&W revolver (one step up from 0.22). the recoil of the .38 is really powerful, got a bit of a shock after i fired the 1st bullet! the whole gun literally jerked backwards. and after firing about 6 rounds, there was black smoke coming out of the barrel!!! i've got absolutely no idea how i managed to get my marksmanship badge, the way i fired that revolver. all my shots were flying to the left!!! damn paiseh man...
i must say it's not as physically tiring as our normal trainings, but it's mentally tiring, with all the homework to do at the end of each day. everyday report by 8.15, and dismiss arnd 6, tiring stuff, but fun, had quite a few laughs, especially over the past 2 days of training. next week going to ubin for 4 days, and after tt can probably learn ceremonial sword drill (WOOHOO!!!!) looking forward to that one.
went for renaissance XIII yesterday with lizz, once i stepped into the PAC ran into xin, shaun and neo, after tt xin kept bugging me. karthig was standing behind me, kept calling me, then i kept telling him to concentrate!!! ren hao was made famous, with his saxaphone solo, all the girls yelling out his name :p was a great atmosphere, with great music. played a number of popular songs, including CHIHUAHUA. the junior band was spectacular, the future of SJIMB is really bright!!! the only real shock of the night was tt sirhan was leaving the post as teacher I/C of the band, and that tan sia hui was going to take over...OF ALL THE PEOPLE!!! my damn nose began to run just before the start of the show, should've used my flixonase. anywayz at the end of it sang school rally, did JOSEPHS and hail hail, great feeling, although the alumni at the back did the hail hail too fast (too much energy already), but singing the school rally brought back some memories for me....
everyday on the bus back from PA i go past SJI, look inside and i'm reminded of why i'm attending this course, what the school has taught me, and the many great friendships i have forged over the 4 years there, may i never forget the friends i made at SJI, lord have mercy on me if i ever do... Cheers.

grad dinner...
it was a great feeling, seeing MOST of your friends dressed up. only some genius called sean tan turned up in a polo t-shirt and jeans, looking like some young kid :p hung arnd in the lobby for a while, slack, tok cock. apparently sam saw me in the lobby, didn't remember catching even the slightest glimpse of her, maybe too skinny....hmmm..... anywayz smartalecs shaun wong and xin and some other ppl left the mandarin like 15 minutes before the supposed start of the dinner. xin turned up sweating like a pig as usual. brendan was the most colourful, with all his badges and chain hanging around, looking like some jiggilo (no offence brenz). wah so many people....lets do it the long way
shaun wong - striped shirt, with a ear ring on, looking like a chao ah beng
jin rong - poor guy just booked out of camp, had to wake up at 3.30 just to have a shower, sway sway must book back into camp in the morning at 7, gonna be a walking zombie, ok i suddenly forgot what he wore.......dang it
xin - blue short sleeve shirt, quite nice
guo cheng - dye red hair, spike spike, wear stripped polyester shirt (crazy idiot, hot like shit), also look like pai kiah
fuzz - wear tie the whole night, blue shirt nicely tucked in
bang - t-shirt inside, greenish shirt outside, not bad also lah
cheng & matthews - both wore less then they are comfortable with!!! and matthews was STILL WEARING PANTS!!! something is wrong with them, both think that wearing skirts is a dire sin. anywayz both still looked good, except for cheng's pontianak hairstyle :p
can't remember all lah, these is all that i can remember, anywayz kinda tired now, but will finish this entry first. altogether took abt 30 picx, couldn't even finish my roll of film, so sad, now gotta waste a few shots before can develop. managed to do one last lim zui hoh, but not really what i expected lah, bloody buggers rushing us to get back to our seats, couldn't even do a proper one!!! GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! *waves fists*
overall the food was good, worth my $55, got sharks fin, spring roll, sawteed prawns (Watever the hell tt means), fried noodles, steamed fish, and some other things, can't really remember also. lemme develop the roll of film then post on my web, got a pic of the menu there, please be patient. was a really memorable night, the next time this happens will be in 10 years time, and i expect many things to have changed by then!!!
this morning went PA with ben tay for CI course briefing. got a whole new set of uniform, peak cap now looks like shit, going to PA to change it later on this morning. high standards will be enforced, uniform is super high standard (only consolation is no more badges to keep pinning up), and i'm gonna be in for a hell of a time. thank goodness on renaissance night (6 dec), training ends at 1 pm. phew, now at least can go home for a rest. got a super duper thick CI training manual, nice zipper boots (sorry glenn :p), got my 2 drill cloths, wondering if i'll ever get my pips, like the way glenn and kah wee are suffering, looks like i'm gonna be in for a hell of 2 years, unless i get kicked out of CI course *thinks*
got music again!!! thx for tt ronald. 409 see u again in february next year, and in 10 years time after that. Cheers.

good feeling to be back...
my first official training today for.....3 months!!! the drill session today is more than all the drills sessions i've had with cadets since my NCOship :p sec 3s drills good!! i'm impressed. they picked up kiri and kanan pusing on the march faster than my squad :) good good. only some problems that need to be brushed up lah....but can be sorted out tomorrow, alot more drills to go...
aye my powerwebmusic is gone!!! WWWWAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! either they shut down, or there is some "technical difficulty". most probably the first option. anywayz long day ahead again tomorrow, campcraft and drills mainly.... hopefully can remember all my knots and lashing, shouldn't be too much of a problem...i hope. sec 3s beginning to prove me wrong, but not alot yet, will see how...Cheers

back at training...
morning wake up go school for PAE. chen ling kwang talks for like 15 minutes, and the briefing is over. what a waste of our time. then they gave out leaving certs, the PAE booklets and the SJI bears we ordered. Cheng changed her hairstyle, and now she looks like a real life walking pontianak. first of all because her hair is so straight, and 2ndly her face is quite white from all the makeup, and she is also naturally fair, so she looks like a ghost!!! we'll couldn't even recognise her at first!!! scary.........
after tt went campcraft training. lets see.... zero sense of urgency, do things can talk, slowly walk around....haiz......... lotsa work to be done with their skills as well. tent was not bad.... they'll managed to get their pegging done quite efficiently. flagpole was sad..... sad sad sad. but since po yew said tt they had done better the previous 2 tries, then i'll have to see their "better" efforts. but for a start, a tent in 10 mins is not bad, but 10 mins for flagpole is horrible!!! eventually gotta cut down to 2.5 minutes.
looks like it's back to training proper for me....Cheers.

most exercise in a long time....
just completed my mad exercise days, 3 hrs of badminton on thursday, and 3 hrs of basketball today. *pant pant* at first only a few people, then suddenly within 10 minutes everybody else came!! must be a common wake up time. anywayz at first just kept shooting. shoot shoot shoot. then when there was enough people, played half court. wahhh, it was damn fun, and relatively intense, managed to score quite a few points :) improvement from scoring nothing at all when i first started :p somehow i can score more at tanglin than at bang's house.... i wonder why...hmmmmmm.........
today also release of PSLE results. was thinking back to the time when i got my PSLE results.... was sitting with shangwei in the hall, then they said everyone qualified for secondary school, then the whole school hall erupted :p quite lame i know...but still it was funny. then one by one get results, slips were passed down the row. was quite sad when i got only 237, but now, i'm happy i didn't get higher :) coz if i had gotten 4 marks higher, i'd be in ACS (I), BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! WAHAHAHAHA....
monday 9 am got PAE (this is a reminder to myself), then after tt ben and i go campcraft training. then at nite go out with neo and lee....somehow lee managed to "predict" his return and left his peak cap in HQ, watching over us ;)
oh well people Os are finally over (hard to believe), so enjoy yourself!!! Cheers.

NEWSFLASH!!!
read in today's paper that SJI will start IB programme in 2005, and will start accepting girls in 2010. that sucks....cannot change in class during PE and all that crap. now there will be josephians and josephettes!!!! WTF!?!?!? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! damn lui!!!! it won't be SJI anymore with girls. WHY THE HELL IS HE DOING THIS!?!?! IZZIT BECAUSE WE ARE AN INDEPENDANT SCHOOL!?!?! AND WE HAVE TO FOLLOW FREAKING ACS (I) AND RI!?!?!!? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! oh and the worst thing is...THEY'RE LOOKING FOR A NEW SITE TO BUILD A BIGGER SCHOOL!!!! WTF IS GOING ON!?!?! TO HELL WITH LUI!!!!
now dunno whether will send my son there already. fuck lah wanna screw up SJI until like that!!! cheebye lui!!! damn board of governers!! must organise a strike!!!
haiz.... before this saddening news, played badminton for 3 hours straight. first played in school, then went tanglin to play. was playing with ian, xz, bren and brian. they'll took shifts playing with me. was playing all the way, only stop to drink some water. i feel damn good now..... except for that F-ed up SJI news!!!!
Will it be the end of the SJI that modern josephians know it to be? :(

History Elective...
well, it was ok, slightly better than SS, but i had that same switched off feeling when i did the SBQ.....that means trouble... anywayz, didn't touch China or Russia, and in the end Russia only came out for SBQ wahahahaha, that was a good gamble. then for essay did treaty of versailles....same thing came out for prelims, hopefully i remembered what miss matthews went through.
O LEVELS OVER!!! WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..............
anywayz after tt went to watch matrix revolutions. IT'S DAMN FREAKING NICE!!! i dunno why people complain that the ending is too suttle. the fighting in Zion drowns out everything else man. i gotta get me one of those APCs, just like mechwarrior....damn cool man. it's one of the best battle scenes i've ever seen, better than pearl harbour!!
tomorrow going to school, observe training for a while, get back a feel of how the squads are doing, then after that 9 o'clock go tanglin play badminton. hmmmmmmm...... Cheers

A maths 2...
Good, great, wonderful, couldn't be better. :p the only way i don't get A1 now is if i'm super careless!!! but hopefully i'm not, coz i managed to check through 3 times, finishing the whole paper and one check through by 9.30. MUST GET A1!!!!
Tomorrow history elective, then FREE!!!!!! a bit worried about history, seems this year the humanities have been harder.....maybe it's just me, but cannot be, the geog boys all say die already, dunno lah. got renaissance and grad dinner tix today. grad dinner tix damn nice sia, good job huang!!
Here's the plans. wednesday watch matrix (long overdue), thursday play badminton at tanglin, friday play tennis at tze's house, saturday go cut hair and maybe buy a new phone. then on monday maybe play badminton again, details i dunno yet, so just wait.....
WAH!!!! in 27.5 hours i'll be FREE!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! dunno how i'm gonna study history later!!! oh well, it's just started to rain. oh speaking of rain, my dog Mel panicked this morning, so went digging in the garden (she's never done that before in her 11 year life) so anywayz now there's something that looks like what Zen will normally do, only Mel did it, so................blah blah. Cheers.

Chem....
chem was not as good as physics, but definitely better than prelims. i think should be able to get a B. i'll be happy with a B to be honest. MCQ was damn good, paper 2, no specific feeling lah. but paper 2 question 1 was super interesting.... can't say i've ever seen anything like it. it was a CROSSWORD PUZZLE!!! WTF!?!?!?! anyway it was an easy 5 marks, so why lose it? it was really creative, but really stupid at the same time...
after chem go KAP eat lunch, then go tze's house watch finding nemo in study lounge. at 4 went to play tennis (for the first time since primary 6). was fun....felt really tired, sweat like mad, managed to squeeze sweat out of my shirt. at first i played like shit, towards the end, slightly better lah. overall 6 balls flew out of the court i think. one flew onto the road, got rolled over by a bus, and went into the drain. :p i feel quite good after the tennis actually, the feeling of blood rushing through my veins again, after they all rushed to my brains for the past few days. a maths 2 and history left, a maths 2 should be ok, history.....hmmm......Cheers.

Physics...
not bad, better than prelims.....hoping that i can make my distinction target. alot of people were in a very good mood after paper 1, but the mood changed after paper 2. i felt quite satisfied. finished paper 1 in half an hour, spent the other half an hour checking and dozing off :p
alot of ppl said paper 2 was a challenge, i also dunno lah. maybe they found it a challenge because must explain alot, actually tt's good, if alot of ppl do paper 2 badly, then they might moderate :) now got 3 subs left, chem, a maths 2 and history..........sianzzzzzz.
Cheers.

a maths 1...
YAY!!! SO HAPPY!!! got a real good feeling about this...except paper one was the easier topics. means paper 2 got binomial theorem, straight line graph and P & C, damn it. at least relative velocity is out of the way. i actually did RV last, haha, saw the question and immediately skipped it. but it turned out to be quite easy :p
went bang's house in the afternoon. played basketball for a while, like half an hour to 45 mins. finding bball quite fun now, only i gotta get used to not double-bouncing..........damn it. anywayz was fun, sweat quite alot, trying to keep up with grace and jem, damn tiring man, they keep spinning!!! at least i managed to snatch the ball away from them a few times (thanks to my height and longER arms). thinking whether i should talk about tze's incident with wet soil....maybe in my next entry, after i "seek his approval" :p anyway tomorrow physics, the 4th subject that i'm aiming for a distinction in, (must beat tt bang!! and maybe ian if that's possible) hopefully my MCQ can get above 32 at least, then i'd be safer, but i wouldn't know until tomorrow, so good luck to all reading this.........Cheers

beginning of my CI life...
got me CI letter today from PA, with the words "On Government Service" on the front. I guess those 3 words replace the stamp :p anywayz looks like both me and ben have been accepted amongst a total of 169 (weird number). date for collection of stuff is 28 November, same day as grad dinner (crap....hopefully won't spoil my mood). report at 2, ends at 5, 2 hours before dinner....damn it. discussed with ben and he came up with this brilliant idea of me dumping evening wear at his house, then go PA, then go back to his house, dump uniform there, then change go dinner, then collect from him when his parents pick him up at night, then drag it back home, makes sense, except quite mafan, but since his house is nearer to PA than mine, it's the best plan :p
tomorrow A maths, quite confident, even though i failed prelims.....hope to get an A1. many ppl say it's a quantum leap, but i think it's do-able......watched T3 over lunch and dinner tonight, and said to myself that terminator is the prelude to the matrix....with robots vs. man and all that. oh well, still munching on my fruit, typing with one hand, quite tiring after a while...Cheers.

e maths paper 2....
good good, quite happy with it, but everybody else said that it was easy too, so i think they might raise the bar of A1, to like 80 marks maybe..... made one really really really super careless and dumb mistake, but i don't think it was worth alot of marks, like 2 or 3. next monday A maths.........damn it!!! must MUST do well......maybe can get A1, maybe not, but then all papers so far have been more difficult than the previous years, so i dunno how much harder A maths will be compared to last year. we shall all just pray and hope it goes well. Cheers...

english and SS..........
english first. compo was ok, though i feel that i could write some more. letter was ok, wrote about something like disabled olympiad. compre was straight forward, summary, also not much to choose from, just picked out everything i could. overall hopefully can get A1.....if i deprove from prelim, something is wrong with me lah!!!
SS.............all i can say is SHIT!!! essay was ok lah, sri lanka, just dunno whether what i wrote was correct or not (as if any other SS exam isn't the same)....then came SBQ, decontextualised. that part was ok, what i'm really pissed off about is how i was not thinking when i was writing. i'm quite sure i could have easily gotten more marks...........dang it!!! AAAAAHHHHHHH!!! left myself so much more to do for history now!! stalin, lenin, WWII, japs, kamikazes....beware!!!!
next up on thursday E Maths 2, another subject i'm aiming for A1......must get it must get it....Cheers!!!

Chem prac...
decided to keep spending a few minutes a day updating my blog during the course of this O levels, so that when i'm older, and if this blog is still around, i can read through all this and think "how the hell did u get that wrong you moron!!!!" :p anywayz about chem prac, quite good lah, hoping that i can get above 30 marks. overall it was easier than the prelim, except for the extension question. so here is what i put down for my answers and the correct answers provided from mrs TCP...
solid t: aluminium...WRONG!!! (zinc carbonate)
titration:
19.8, 0.101 (both EXACTLY CORRECT!!!! WOOHOO!!!)
3 ions present:
sulphate
iron (II)
ammonium
(ALL CORRECT AGAIN!! YEAH!!!)
extension question:
so wrong until cannot be more wrong.
so altogether i've lost 5 marks already, so still got 5 marks leeway for my target of 30.
on the way back home, was at the jelita busstop waiting for the bus. then this girl at the busstop shouted to her friend about 5 metres away, "HURRY UP YOU BIMBO!!" then i was like "wtf??!?!?!" turned away as i made tt cringed face. then later when the bus came, she said "we can take this bus bimbo".....then i felt nothing :p like she actually SHOUTED it out loh, with the hand signals and all. oh well.......
monday got E maths 1, should be ok, unless i'm so careless until i lose 8 marks like i did in my prelims :( most worried about tuesday. english then SS, bloody killer. will have to write 3 essays, and dunno how many more words. will bring a few pens on tuesday. actually more worried about how my arm's gonna feel, anybody has any tips on how to conquer tensed up arms quickly and effectively, pls write in my tagboard.....till next time, cheers.

3 more weeks to freedom....
exactly 3 weeks from now, our Os will be OVER!!!! oh well, i guess we should all work hard, since we are the YOUTH OF THE NATION!!! :P anyways i must say the physics prac was not as bad as i expected, only that heat screwed me. but anywayz, tomorrow chem prac, QA and titration HERE I COME!!! i've been telling myself more and more often nowadays to hang in there. 3 weeks of hell is a step towards many years of enjoyment. so to all sec 4s, hang in there, it will be over before you know it, and to all SJI ppl, there will be girls sitting next to you in class faster than i can say "what the hell!?!?"
i've already kinda planned out my end-of-year holidays, sadly...
24 Nov: PAE Briefing
24 - 26 Nov: NCO training camp
28 Nov: Graduation dinner
1 - 16 Dec: CI Course (tt's if i get accepted, so far no news)
Mon, Wed, Fri: Campcraft competition training
things to plan:
HPPS P6 reunion
2E8 reunion @ TWK's house (any volunteers to help for this one?)
badminton games with my friends
well, what an interesting "holiday" i have. anywayz, next year SJI NPCC will have 4 officers. The 1st time since i dunno when, coz we've had 2 officers since i was in sec 1!! Lee Lip Ming is coming back (JOY TO THE WORLD!!!), and there will be this new guy from dunno where. i wonder how well GSM and LLM will get along. that should be interesting to see. next year is azhar's last year. will miss all his long funny speeches, the ones we dread at that moment of time, but when we think back it all seems rather funny. Seems like there are alot of changes in NP after we'll left. GSM spending quite a large sum of money on 7 letters (wtf!?!?!), and even the new MCM are beginning to understand how it feels to work with him. hopefully it will all be better when LLM returns, but i have a feeling that even LLM will feel quite weird with a new HO and all. suddenly thinking of the reasons why i'm becoming a CI again.....rethinking the pros and cons (although this isn't exactly the best time).
oh well, will keep this one short, tomorrow chem prac last shift (ARRGGHHH!!) anyone sabos me you're gonna be able to see your own body from the back without the help of a mirror!!! (if you know what i mean) ok people, 3 weeks more. endure, ren, tahan, SUCK IT UP PEOPLE!!! Cheers.

even more visits...
morning went to NJ with tze (refuses to allow me to write pang) and zun chen. we were 1st greeted by ppl from canoeing, track and field and the interact club (anyone knows wat this is all abt please enlighten me). then walk walk, hell lot of steps :p, but not so bad lah. quite a lively place, just that the grey doors make it look a wee bit duller, but it's ok all the same. ran into glenn and kah wee (looking short amongst his friends). glenn was ahem ahem....SLACKING, damn school council. refused to give me the pack, in the end his council friend gave it to me, damn bugger. but at least he showed me the way to the gym lah. THX GLENN!!! not as bad as kah wee, who was standing in a TALL corner just yakking away with his friends, tt's even worse than glenn!!! saw xue hui and calvin TOO. xue hui with his bball, and calvin was "teaching" this girl how to shoot the air rifle, he seemed very content i must say :p walked around the school for about one hour. the library there, quite sad lah. after that went SA, oh well the building is quite unkept, since they will be moving soon as well. got green moss growing everywhere :p met alot more ppl there. met some primary school friends, and some SJI ppl as well. anywayz they had this quite well coordinated mass dance on the track, quite nice to see lah. but the study environment there isn't too good. their library isn't that great either, although i must say slightly better than NJ. but i wouldn't really mind going to SA, only the state of the buildings make it seem like quite a sad place, moss everywhere. somehow that place also reminded me of SJI, with trees all around (there are a hell lot of trees!!!)
Final conclusion 1: SJI has the biggest canteen in the whole of Singapore
Final conclusion 2: SJI has the biggest library in the whole of Singapore (amongst schools only lah of course)
Final conclusion 3: i don't think i would want to go to HC or RJ even if i had the choice, coz at HC MUST take 4 A level subs., and the environment at RJ is just to stressful and saddening.
But oh well, 1st 3 months still CJC for me, which didn't have open house. Some theories i've thought up are
1.: they know that they've got so many affiliated secondary schools, (more than 10) that they don't need to have an open house, and people will still go there!!
2. all the people rejected from the top few JCs will end up there anyway... :p
after all the open houses, went to chinatown pt for chem tuition. arrived there 45 mins early loh, coz the last time i took the MRT i was late, but this time i'm SO DAMN EARLY!!! so i just sat on a step, leant forward, and took a nap. slept for 15 mins, then 10 mins :p felt a bit better after that lah. reached home at about 6.15, tired..........wanna zzzzzzzzzzz, but then also cannot zzzzzzzz, coz must do some english and SS. must bring either my SS or history bk to church tomorrow to study before it starts!!!
exactly 9 days to the 3rd of Nevember, the beginning of our written papers...........damn fast, damn freaking fast, before we know it it will all be over, so hang in there people, and remember that we reap what we sow, so just mug damn hard for one last week, and we can all feel satisfied at the end of it that we've tried our best, and we can enjoy our short break. Cheers!!

visitation of houses that were open ;)...
today went to RJ and HC open house with pang, ian and zun chen. met at jelita, then walked in, and realised that poor ian only had 10 cents on him :p anyway RJ, quite saddening, i found the area quite cramped, and very pressurising, makes one feel kind of claustrophobic. i guess it was only better because of the band playing and all the people walking around, but i imagined the place without so many people, and it would seem really really stressful. HC was definitely better than RJ. in terms of amout of items planned, the the quality of things set up. the whole ambience of the place was also much much better. the people there seemed more cheerful and enthusiastic as compared to the RJ ppl. oh well, i don't really intend to go to either of them anywayz, but just went to see what the inside of the school was like, and some facilities that the school has. come to the conclusion that the SJI canteen is one of the biggest in all the schools in singapore, including JCs. i don't know about polytechnics though, but will seek to solidify this finding when i go to NJ and SA this saturday.
went out for dinner with visiting relatives from hong kong. had nice prawn tofu, minced meat, sliced fish, mee sua, and a whole load of other nice nice stuff. the restaurant was behind the raffles hotel. it was in one of those refurbished shophouses, like those in chinatown, real nice feel to it all. my uncle (who was also taught by tang wing kee!!!) commented that i really look like half my mum and half my dad. if you've noticed, i've got a double eye-lid on my left eye, and a single eye-lid on my right. double is from my dad, and singleis from my mum. my nose looks like my dad's, my jaw and ears look like my mum's. and my hair is also wavy, which is from my mum. but my eyes-lids, quite funny lah. one eye from each parent :p
realised that i haven't really been able to get down to working as hard as i did before the prelims. like no matter how hard i try to work, my mind just drifts, and the prospect of working just disappears, as my mind shuts down :( oh well, shall TRY my best to do some chemistry now, or maybe maths, haiz can't decide, as both need alot of work, dang it. oh well, hope all u ppl reading me blog have better luck at studying than i've been having. Cheers.

You are Neo, from "The Matrix." You

compassion.
What Matrix Persona Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

you're a water goddes/god
you have water power and love the water
you are a good
swimmer, dreamer, romantic,mysticus, kind, forgiving,
charming, just like the water !!
you're more a follower...
your element
brought to you by Quizilla
no longer a water boy...
today was......unproductive (damn it!!!) morning went school for history and maths. what matthews went through is everything that i studied before the prelims loh, and she didn't go through anything that i haven't studied yet. bloody hell, she said she was going to go through China, then in the end did switzerland and WWI. basket, almost fell asleep in my place, if not for xin sitting next to me. thanx xin. maths was...........interesting i shall say :p. did half of november 2002 a maths paper 2. did at a super duper slow pace man, most of the time was tokking cock with all the ppl arnd me. haiz, hardly did any maths, wasted my time in school, except that i saw a few certain people quite a few times lah *wink wink*
after tt arnd 12, stoned in the canteen, slowly eating lunch, yakked with xin, raoz, brenz, nicky and friends for a while. when the 1.40 bell rang went to library to read papers. looks like bush has too many personnel, over 100 secret service agents loh!!! then on the way to school, saw police motorcycles a distance apart from each other, on the road adjoining to the PIE, after tt yue hong told me that there were policemen on the overhead bridge as well, the one outside tanglin. well i guess it's necessary, since he's claimed to be the "most powerful man on earth", but i don't know how true that statement is lah, since Saddam and Osama seem quite powerful people as well. But i ain't gonna weigh their "power", got much better things to do :p
went to pang's house. tried to study, managed to revise one chapter of history (sucks...so damn slow). ian ended up eating........as usual. then went for a swim. haven't swam for 1 year already, and i felt damn tired after swimming only a short distance loh. shit man, no longer a water boy anymore. can't even hold my breath and swim for 25 metres...HOW HOW HOW!?!?! must swim lots lots more after exams. but it was a good feeling to get underwater again. being able to exercise without feeling the sweat. the only problem was tt the water made my eyes so damn dry after that, they were all red at the end, like bloodshot. was damn painful.....wash and wash, until now still a wee bit red. :(
during dinner was watching casper on HBO, a very nice movie. a great movie about friendship, love, and just fitting in. and besides christina ricci quite cute in this movie :) and casper looks better as a ghost than as a boy i must say, sadly. anywayz i doubt you can still find the VCD out there, much less the DVD, but if you've got HBO, i suggest you watch this movie, even if it might be labeled as kiddish.
tomorrow going to RJ open house with ian and pang, just for fun, and to give my sister a "report" on what's going on in her old school. saturday going SA, NJ and HC with pang. for me NJ and HC is for fun also lah, since i don't wanna go there, just wanna see what it's like to be in these "top" JCs.
Finally changed my music, to something a weeee bit slower than linkin park, but equally as nice. pics are all up too, almost everything that i took during the past few weeks. chose not to put some up for certain reasons that anyone other than me does not need to know. Cheers people, and keep mugging, it will all be over soon!!!

standard procedure...
life nowadays damn standard. more standard than before prelims. here's what my timetable looks like generally...
0830: report to school library and read newspapers.
0900 - 1200: mug mug mug
1200 - 1300: eat eat eat
1300 - 1330: try to have a nap in the library without getting caught :p
1330 - 1600: mug mug mug somemore
1600 - 1700: go school track and exercise, sweat out all the toxins!!!!
after tt go home, either do somemore work, or just zzzzzzzzzzz........
today about the same. but for exercise, ran 3 rounds, 100 pushups and 100 crunches. then SGC, neo and shaun came along. played 2 on 2 soccer.........phew, tt was tiring, but damn fun!! managed to finish mgs e maths paper 2, and RI physics paper 2 sections A and B.....tired :(
decided to take lindy's advice, and change my music like once a week. but i think this can only take effect after the Os, since playing the music is getting kinda boring....will see how lah. can't wait for my roll of film to be developed, then can add all the picsss, should be damn interesting, seeing cheng with her ghostly white face and her scaringly red lips, like some pontianak tt just sucked someone's blood!!! oh wait, do pontianaks suck blood in the 1st place??? hmmm...gotta check out that one, somehow or another....... btw FUZZ, typing a whole load of hahas and lalalas and dots is not a very fair competition lah.........:p anywayz gd luck to all the ppl taking their Bio prac tomorrow, all the best yeah!! Cheers.

end to 4 magical years....
today officially marks the end of my career as an SJI student. WWAAAHHHHHH!!!! SO FAST!!!!! i can still remember my 1st day as sec 1 loh. all went to the hall in the morning, before that walked around a bit, as blur as ever (like all sec 1s are). was 1st allocated to 1E10, after tt was transfered to 1E8, under TWK (best teacher on earth). at that point i had absolutely no idea what i was going to do next, like i said, blur lah. now *boom*, end of sec 4. quite scary. next thing A levels, then army then dunno what else. it's going scaringly fast.
paraliturgy today was meaningful. on my star i wrote tang wing kee, mrs cheng, SJI NPCC and tze wei & rao....they'll probably destroy the stars after tt lah, but they asked us to write who has made an impact on our lives, so there.. decided to write SJI NPCC coz got so many ppl to name, so just summarised it into one category :D. sec 4 farewell, i actually paid attention during the whole of mr lui's speech. not bad. name was mentioned again for being UGO leader, along with nicky and other ppl. quite a good feeling lah i must say :p. zi xin did his "tai tai tai" tune again with his finger waving in my face, bloody *toot*. haha, dun worry xin i dun hate you. sec 4 teachers collaborated to sing a song, quite meaningful. tan sia hui can sing quite well man, i was quite amazed. cheng, TEH and CF refused to sing, damn it! the whole thing ended by 11.30, when the programme said that it would end at 12.30. :p
took alot of pics today too, battery almost died on me. took pics with classmates, mr ghazali, miss boon, b.poon, mr chandra (who is retiring), chen sao, and some other teachers lah. at least next 2 weeks still got extra lessons, can still take other pictures if i want. got back report books as well, when i saw mrs cheng's comments i felt quite good loh, coz honestly all the things she writes about i don't even know i'm doing them loh!! :p if u wanna know wat it says ask me, if not then nvm.
WE'RE CLASS CHAMPIONS!!!! didn't have enough medals, and they weren't even the real ones :p wonder when we'll get the real ones. then can add to the one i have from 2E8 2nd place. considering the fact that i didn't contribute to this year's competitions (due to certain ppl who refused to let anyone else play), i still feel quite good about it. must congratulate lawrence house, rags to riches house!! michael house....hmmm............... gd luck to next years house leaders lah, tt's all i can say.
after tt went library to try and study. sad to say didn't do alot today. i ended up sleeping for half an hour without even knowing it. woke up and asked ian "how long have i been sleeping?" and he said "about half an hour". i was bloody stunned!!! but i felt better after tt. read in the papers after tt that Col Noel Cheah, the guest-of-honour for this year's AP is in deep trouble now. bloody commandos screwing up their own reputation. 1st was the logistics problem which saw them kicked out of the best SAF company competition. now a commando trainee died, these guys are fucking themselves up man. SAF supposed to be damn pro, then like so many deaths all of a sudden, haiz....
arnd 4.30 went to exercise with ian. did 3 rounds of circuits which basically is 1.2 km and 75 pushups. didn't do crunches coz track was wet. ian did 5 rounds, and collapsed on the floor after i forced him to do 15 pushups with me. he absolutely collapsed, breathing damn heavily. but at least his eyes were open *phew*. after tt he looked shagged out, but i felt damn good!!!
oh well, like they say, all good things come to an end, and this wonderful thing is ending for me. from stepping into SJI on the 1st day of school, from joining SJI NPCC, to becoming DySI, and then later SI. i've met so many great people, people whom i'm going to have a hard time forgetting, and now graduating as part of the class of 2003. SJI NPCC ex-sec 4s, on graduation dinner must do one last lim zui hoh as a squad, since there will be drinks there, might as well take the opportunity. i know i'll most probably be coming back as CI, but nothing beats being a student in SJI....
Hail Hail Alma Mater
Hail to SJI
We'll hold your banner high with pride
A shield of green and white
We'll fight to keep your glory bright and never shall we fail
Hail to thee our alma mater
HAIL HAIL HAIL!!!
For glory, for honour, for SJI NPCC.
Ora Et. Labora
Pray and Work
I will continue, oh my god, to do all my actions for the love of you.

preparing for Os...
whole week has been spent studying. been studying alot harder than i had before the prelims. thinking abt what score i would find "appropriate" for my Os. I think i'll be happy with a 12. but anywayz, anything i get below 15 is good for me. spent yester-afternoon and this afternoon in the library mugging with ian yappy nad zun chen. to be honest i never worked 3 hours in a row before the prelims. mainly catching up with all the damn homework i've been getting, all past year papers. had chem, phy, both maths, english homework to do. now only left maths and chem, expecting to get alot more papers next week.
today RME period was swapped with reviewing of our SS papers in the LT. jeremy liew today like damn calm today, either he doesn't give a damn whether we pay attention, or he's just really in a good mood today. whole LT was so freaking noisy, had difficulty listening at some parts. after tt malcolm wong went through the SEQs. i fell asleep after question 2, coz tt's the question tt i did. :p after tt, john con came in to promote bears. yes, you heard me right, bears... teddy bears to be exact. 1st he brought the IJ bear, and after a bit of explanation, said tt the IJ bear got "lonely", and he brought out, can you believe it, the SJI bear!!! :p there's a school U one (shorts by the way), the PT kit one (with funny duddy words behind it), and the beany bear version, also in PT kit. the only things is the big bears cost $30 each!!! and they're not that big. the beany bear itself cost $12. oh well, watever the case is, john con is a damn "good" salesman. really funny lah. i also dunno y goh poh kenn came along also. once she entered the room, the whole room went quiet in a few seconds. however, she loses to CF, as when CF enters the room, the room is silent IMMEDIATELY!!! the all amazing powers of the "dark lord" :p
lets see... next week is last week in school for us, and friday is paraliturgy. we'll learnt to fold some weird thingy for paraliturgy, have no idea what it is for yet, but must take a whole load of shots on friday. already bringing camera to school, taking a whole load of shots, hopefully can finish all 36 shots exactly on next friday. study study study, the only thing missing from this equation is sleep!!! damn it... tomorrow going to KAP to meet pang and yappy, study a whole lot more, then after tt go chinatown for chem....life, interesting thing that we have, which is full of ups and downs, full of ins and outs, but it's interesting all the same. mug hard ppl.....then after Os can go out and party!! Cheers.

A maths...of all the subjects to fail!!!
still feeling quite light and bouncy about my prelim results, even though its not one ppl in the upper floor would call "spectacular", but it's quite good for me already. found out last night that i can't do science stream since i failed my A maths. all i need is 1.5 marks to pass, crap man. oh well, in arts stream, choices between econs, lit, geog and history, and since i hate and suck at lit so much, i think i'll do econs, hist and geog for 1st 3 months. but then going to appeal to bro. paul, who MIGHT just let me take science stream since i only failed by 3 marks with a miserable 47!! since from SJI he also might give some chance lah.
today during chinese replacement period, again damn slack lah. without TPL in class is quite quiet, but once she's inside class ah, noise noise noise. cannot get any work done :p keerthi was going around comparing leg hair, measuring ppl's ears and fingers. tt's what you call absolute boredom, bored to the core!!! me also quite bored lah. neo, me and shaun tried pulling zi xin along with his chair. whenever i pull or push his chair, i end up moving instead of him!! during maths lessons today when TEH was going through e maths paper 1, she caught sach talking, and said "i'll minus 1 mark from your paper!!". then sachdev said "that's the problem i minus 2 marks!!" couldn't stop laughing after tt. summore sachdev's voice made it sound damn freaking funny. had the whole class in stiches i tell you. bloody joker.
oh yes, managed to get UGO student leaders scores. all scores are to the best of my memory. Kenny 8, Ben 10, Zhi Hong 11, Nicky 14 (sorry nick for the earlier mistake), Greg 20. hehe, me not last :p i know it sounds quite evil lah. but quite happy because i'm in the lowest class among the 6 of us!! :D majority of my class going either CJC or JI. not bad actually, from SJI to JI. huang was saying tt becoz we did so badly no longer "saint" already, so take away the 'S' :p oh well, must turn up the gas for preparation for me Os. i'm thinking about aiming for 7 pts, then i can minus another 12 pts from my prelim, that would be quite cool actually!!! 31-->19-->7 quite difficult i must say........but worth a shot anyhow. as poon said, when you apply for a job, they don't look at your prelim results but your O level results, so must really mug hard and chiong for this Os. good luck to all sec 4s reading this............Cheers!!!

Prelim results:
Now let's see....
Subject/ Prelim/ Mid-year
English/ A1/ B3
Chinese/ B3/ C5
E Maths/ B3/ C5
History+SS/ B3/ C6
Physics/ B4/ D7
Chemistry/ C5/ E8
A Maths/ D7/ C5 (damn paper 2!!!!)
L1R5/ 19/ 31 (HAHA 12 PTS LESS!! avg. of 2 pts per subj)
happy happy happy.............thought would get like 25!! looks like CJC for me.....not bad lah, just glad that i managed to qualify for JC! surprisingly my SS did better than my history!! and john con said tt our SS was horrendous........gave me a heart attack. 1st in class for english, 75 exactly. venod and haresh got 74....hehehe!!! but venod's oral beat mine by 2 marks, but my compo thrash his.........WAHAHAHAHAHA!!! only my A Maths deproved by quite alot, bloody paper 2 damn killer!! haha just feeling damn light and happy now, only gotta work on my A Maths, somehow. damn ian yappy said everything also "fail already lah", and in the end he got 7 pts, and his A2 was 74 marks loh!!!!! not so lah, only 1 more mark to get 6 pts, and he wants to go to CJC.....dunno wat's in his head also lah. CJC ain't so bad now, got the all mighty BRO. PAUL!! helped yank SJI up the rankings a few years ago, must help him make his magic again at CJC. Since so many ppl say that he's such a great principal, must go to the school where he's at and experience 1st hand what it feels like to be studying under him. the funny thing was they gave out my best 3 papers 1st, namely english, history/ss and e maths. after tt the results got worse and worse :p ...somehow the order was like tt. looks like one-third of SJI will be at CJC AGAIN!! not bad lah, at least there will be alot of familar faces. this morning was quite nerve wrecking, before the classrooms were opened, i spent my time looking out onto the field from the 2nd level foyer, enjoying a cool breeze, as i contemplated my fate :p.....oh yes....SHEM ANG!!!! dark horse man, suddenly history/ss became 1st in class A1...damn pro man shem, dunno how he managed to do tt also. during class tests always very mediocre or quite bad, but according to him for history he spotted question, but for SS he pia like shit. doubt it will work for me lah. can't take any risks for O levels. just hope i can do as well for english in the Os, english was my life saver man!!! oh well tomorrow back to school again, and the going through of all the papers...haiz..........number of days as a Josephian are slowly creeping away, must make the most of what's remaining, most probably bring camera during the week, finish up the film, and maybe finish a new one as well :p Cheers.

Thank you SJI...
Thanks for accepting me into the school
Thanks for putting up with all my crap
Thanks for teaching me how to live
Thanks for giving me four wonderful years
Thanks for allowing me to be one of many Josephians
Thanks for being SJI!!!
Grad ceremony was really really wonderful!! Although i was fighting a slight cold and sore throat, i still enjoyed myself. Sang really really loud!!! :D When the bagpipers marched in, i remembered how it was when i was there before, getting my ears blasted off, and trying to keep in timing. Throughout the whole ceremony, there was constant reminder of the "joyful" occasion on Monday. damn it!! grrrrrrr............ anywayz i enjoyed the end the most, when we sang the national anthem, did HAIL HAIL and our school cheer. Might not be the last time, coz still got paraliturgy, but it was one to be savoured indeed. And even though nyw told me that his speech was going to be one that was serious, i couldn't pick out any part of the speech where he was being serious :p. and i doubt the adding of "CF" helped to make it anymore serious. I bet CF has never ever been so happy, or at least embarrassed. All the scolding and his mighty finger pointing........was all turned into laughter and applause.........the look on his face was candid man!! Well at least he knows that even though he's the "Dark Lord", we still appreciate what he has done.
Oh yes, supposed to tell you'll about my sec 2 english and lit teacher. Mr. Kevin Cheng. young guy, about mid-twenties. dyed his hair, walks like a sissy, talks like a sissy, with all the hand waving. but scolds like a man!! i remember the time when he threw xue liang's table out the of the class. and i mean THROW!!! super duper pissed. and he's one of the few teachers in Singapore that use words like "you bitch!!" and "you bloody piece of shit!!" in class. the way he says it is damn funny, and when he says it he always points his finger at you in a sissy kinda way. one might call his method of teaching not as effective as other teachers, but he does his job well, takes pride in what he does (i think...), and nows how to relate to the students. He will sometimes join us at recess and tok cock with us. In fact he's the only teacher i know who does that!! i respect this guy not becoz of how he taught, but because of how he could so easily connect with students. but the best is still TWK, he's unbeatable man!! haha....come to think of it, most of my lower sec male teachers were all full of shit, but in a good way of course. :p just realised that i forgot my sec 1 science teacher's name. OH NO!!! die, my memory is already failing me!!! dang it! nvm, tok abt my sec 2 science teachers next time i blog.......Cheers!

Today was officially my last day as a Josephian, even though we still have 2 weeks of school. This is because is the 151st Anniversary Speech & Graduation Day is tomorrow!!!. 1st time it’s being held in the hall for a very long time. Really grand too, got wedding type chairs, and an improved sound system. It was moved to the hall to accomadate the 1000+ people that will be attending the function. I look forward to tomorrow, however.......... DAN DAN DAN DAAAAAAAA .....................D-Day is on Monday, when the earth’s anger will be felt from above, where its shattering strength will strike all right where it hurts. Haiz………..don’t look so far ahead 1st lah hoh? must reflect back on my past 4 wonderful and exciting years in SJI. lets see............ah yes!!!
Sec 1 & 2 form tutor: Mr Tang Wing Kee!!!! The "best" teacher i've ever had man. the one thing that i will remember the most about him is his ability to give pushups like nobody's business, but the inability to even do them. Also my maths teacher, his favourite time of the day was mental sums, with his little blue book and his metal ruler. but the best part came when he asked us for our marks. 5 marks: very good, full marks!!! 4 marks: good, next time try for full marks!! 3 marks: bad, nearly fail!! 10 pushups!!! 2 marks: bad, FAIL!!! 20 pushups!! 1 marks: horrible: 30 pushups!! 0 marks: YOU STUPID COW!!! besides his fetish for cows, he also had fetishes for his jackknife, his airborne badge, his ability to go diving and rollerblade. one could never forget his 3 favourite phrases........" Rain or shine, be on time", "don't be on time, be early" and the all time favourite........"NO BRAINS MUST HAVE MUSCLES!!!!" thus his love for giving us pushups if we do badly, as he believes that you do not need a very high level of education to become a bouncer!! :p Every now and then either norman or mark or qi hao will be sentenced to sit under his table and act as a foot rest for his ever tired foot. that is the sad cases lah, but non the less funny. But don't get me wrong, this guy gets a lot of respect from me. he's been teaching in SJI for 40++ years. he taught teo chee hean, my 2 uncles, one of which was teo chee hean's classmate, and even some teachers in SJI now!!! even though he claims that he vomits 3 buckets of blood at home everyday because of us, what the heck lah, cannot be real!!! he retired last year at the age of 64 to a very grand ceremony indeed! i really look forward to seeing him in 10 years time during reunion dinner, tt's if i'm not dead yet or in jail! heck even if i'm dead i'll rise up from the grave to see him!! i saw him this year though, at our 151st Anniversary Annual Parade. He was amongst the guests seated on the comfy green chairs all decked out in his NCC uniform, with which he wears his airborne badge with a hell lot of pride! now what else is there abt TWK??? oh yes, his beer belly and his black moustache!! now one would be surprised that his hair is still black even though he is 64 years old this year, and one would normally think that he dyed his hair. however........for the 2 years that he's taught me, i never even saw a single strand of white hair on his head!!! all i can say to this guy is THANK YOU!!!!
next post i shall talk about our faggarty sec 2 english and literature teacher Mr. Kevin Cheng!!!! don't miss out.........

not bad... :D

You're Most Like The Season Spring ...
Fresh faced, with a young outlook on life - you
smile at the world and expect it to smile back
at you. You're mostly a bubbly, fun - innocent
person. Described as cute possibly. However,
you're a little naive about things and tend to
be a little too trustworthy.
As the first season, It Makes you the youngest -
and so most immature - but people are inclined
to look out for and protect you.
Well done... You're the most fun of the seasons :)

even more preliminary prelim results...
newest news: history elective one boy in my class got 23/25 for SEQ, have no idea who it is, could be yue chuan, shaun wong, sean tan, karthig, and the list goes on and on. i doubt it can be me, becoz like i said i've been on a downhill slide!! feel alot better than yesterday though, somehow. even though the feeling of gloom and death hangs in the air (so passe!!!) for monday. official last day as a Josephian is 17 October. 4 whole years of fun, training, studying, slacking as a josephian all coming to an end. end of my "legacy" :p
after school played badminton for a while at Tanglin. had games with ian, Fuzz and ET. zi xin and shaun came along like some really irritating "cheerleaders". sorry ian that i ended up playing with my friends and not you as intended, and you ended up eating chips with franklin. sorry sorry!! after that went to clementi to top up EZ link card..........saw quite a lot of hot chicks on the way :D talking about hot, last few days damn hot. last week rain rain rain, this week sun sun sun. haiz, should be used to it by now lah, since living in Singapore for 16 years already.
oh yes, Happy Children's Day, to all the kids at heart out there. was thinking about my primary school days on the bus. i doubt there is a single person in secondary school or above who doesn't miss primary school life. the "innocence", the fun-filled times, running around in the field and basketball before and after school with absolutely no care in the world. but seeing the kids nowadays, i really pity them. their bags are as big as their bodies, backs all hunched already, all wearing specs dunno whether from studying or from too much computer. But young kids nowadays rarely play outdoors anymore, because there is such a wide range of games to play on playstation, x box, nintendo, gameboy, PC, dreamcast and blah blah blah. i think the standard of living in singapore might have gone up, but the standard of its citizens are on the decline.
i'm generalising here, hopefully it doesn't come true in the near future. but as history shows, all great kings fall, no matter how great they are. however powerful someone may be there is always someone stronger to overthrow him. if you put this in the context of singapore, i really wonder how much longer this peace and security we feel in singapore will remain. sure we have a competant police force and a strong armed forces, but one would have noticed the increase in number of thefts and petty crimes recently. even though some would say that it's due to the economic downturn, once someone picks up the habit of theft to get easy cash, it's not easy to change it, because once someone has found an easy way out, he'll usually take it. it's just like electricity, it always takes the easier way, even though it might be longer :p Cheers.....

exam results........
preliminary reports from teachers has not been good. A maths paper 2 done badly, physics and chem paper 2 section B done badly, chem MCQ is fucked up completely!!!! the whole day was getting from bad to horrible to atrocious!!!! beginning to wonder whether is it i'm not working hard enuff, or if the papers were just too difficult for me to handle. suddenly thinking about backing out from CI course, but i think it is unlikely that i will be able to. i don't think i need any extra workload to weigh me down right now.......especially next year, if i intend to pick up my ass again and get moving!! At the rate i'm going there's NO WAY i can enter JC for 1st 3 months, and if i cannot go into JC, i haf absolutely no idea how my parents are going to react, because my mum seems completely reluctant for me to get into poly, even though it doesn't seem like such a bad idea. Damn it so many ppl in my family are all thinkers, results are all top class, all go study medicine, accounting and all cheem cheem stuff, then now if i don't do well..........dunno wtf to do liao!! :( I feel as though my results have been on a slide downhill ever since sec 1............and i can't bloody hell find a way to stop it! this year was even worse, with the worst results i've ever gotten for an exam. I 1st failed a subject in an exam in sec 2, chinese, but this year mid year, failed 2!! slide slide slide........roll roll roll........PLUNGE PLUNGE PLUNGE!! soon i'm gonna end up a bloody mess on the floor and ppl will trample all over me and my life will flash and shatter and crumble before my very eyes and i'll be powerless to do anything about it. The only consolation i can take out of this year is the many lessons i've learnt from running SJI NPCC and the many more friends i've made be it classmates or CCA mates, but otherwise, i don't think i've accomplished much else.
what the hell is my life becoming, and where on earth am i heading???

today was the most unproductive day in my entire SJI career, one which is sadly coming to an end!! sat in the PAC for 90% of the day, just rehearsing for Grad & Speech day. i dunno abt you, but i'll definitely miss my alma mater. made alot of great friends there, managed to learn alot from my seniors and teachers (and i don't just mean textbook stuff). school for us officially ends on 16 October, with graduation and speech day being this saturday (4 Oct). Results back next monday..........dead........ really praying hard tt i did well enuff to at least get into a JC.
just now while eating lunch, was watching AXN, showing "world's wildest police videos". the one tt was showing then was one about a prank being played on a junior officer by a senior officer. then i thought, "u mean they haf so much extra manpower until they've got time to play pranks ah?!!?!" i doubt u will see this sort of thing in singapore!
decided to re-start my revision today since i've been playing for 4 days already. should be enuff of a break for me..........Thank goodness now TYS' is more useful, since it is ALOT more relevant than when we were doing prelims. must do alot more for maths. for Os i looking for A1 in physics, eng, and both maths....... Ora Et Labora, pray and work.........prayed already, time to work. Cheers.

heyaz, this blog thingy is kinda confusing, but i'm going to try and learn myself..........My dad is forcing me to start revision for Os tomorrow, and keeps insisting tt the day of release of prelim results is too late. Well i guess there is some truth in it, but now i feel like crap!! Cheers.

Just had the feeling to start a blog............dunno y also, must be becoz my mind is rather relaxed after the prelims and becoz of the Linkin Park music in the background! Last 3 days pretty standard. Only did 2 main things, play computer and play soccer. As you can see pretty much of play now, but once results are out, time for intensive study, a.k.a. CHIONG AAAHHHH!!! hopefully u ppl can also enjoy this brief moment of rest before the final lap (as all teachers put it). Cheers.
