Chem prac...

decided to keep spending a few minutes a day updating my blog during the course of this O levels, so that when i'm older, and if this blog is still around, i can read through all this and think "how the hell did u get that wrong you moron!!!!" :p anywayz about chem prac, quite good lah, hoping that i can get above 30 marks. overall it was easier than the prelim, except for the extension question. so here is what i put down for my answers and the correct answers provided from mrs TCP...

solid t: aluminium...WRONG!!! (zinc carbonate)

titration:
19.8, 0.101 (both EXACTLY CORRECT!!!! WOOHOO!!!)

3 ions present:
sulphate
iron (II)
ammonium
(ALL CORRECT AGAIN!! YEAH!!!)

extension question:
so wrong until cannot be more wrong.

so altogether i've lost 5 marks already, so still got 5 marks leeway for my target of 30.

on the way back home, was at the jelita busstop waiting for the bus. then this girl at the busstop shouted to her friend about 5 metres away, "HURRY UP YOU BIMBO!!" then i was like "wtf??!?!?!" turned away as i made tt cringed face. then later when the bus came, she said "we can take this bus bimbo".....then i felt nothing :p like she actually SHOUTED it out loh, with the hand signals and all. oh well.......

monday got E maths 1, should be ok, unless i'm so careless until i lose 8 marks like i did in my prelims :( most worried about tuesday. english then SS, bloody killer. will have to write 3 essays, and dunno how many more words. will bring a few pens on tuesday. actually more worried about how my arm's gonna feel, anybody has any tips on how to conquer tensed up arms quickly and effectively, pls write in my tagboard.....till next time, cheers.

3 more weeks to freedom....

exactly 3 weeks from now, our Os will be OVER!!!! oh well, i guess we should all work hard, since we are the YOUTH OF THE NATION!!! :P anyways i must say the physics prac was not as bad as i expected, only that heat screwed me. but anywayz, tomorrow chem prac, QA and titration HERE I COME!!! i've been telling myself more and more often nowadays to hang in there. 3 weeks of hell is a step towards many years of enjoyment. so to all sec 4s, hang in there, it will be over before you know it, and to all SJI ppl, there will be girls sitting next to you in class faster than i can say "what the hell!?!?"

i've already kinda planned out my end-of-year holidays, sadly...
24 Nov: PAE Briefing
24 - 26 Nov: NCO training camp
28 Nov: Graduation dinner
1 - 16 Dec: CI Course (tt's if i get accepted, so far no news)
Mon, Wed, Fri: Campcraft competition training

things to plan:
HPPS P6 reunion
2E8 reunion @ TWK's house (any volunteers to help for this one?)
badminton games with my friends

well, what an interesting "holiday" i have. anywayz, next year SJI NPCC will have 4 officers. The 1st time since i dunno when, coz we've had 2 officers since i was in sec 1!! Lee Lip Ming is coming back (JOY TO THE WORLD!!!), and there will be this new guy from dunno where. i wonder how well GSM and LLM will get along. that should be interesting to see. next year is azhar's last year. will miss all his long funny speeches, the ones we dread at that moment of time, but when we think back it all seems rather funny. Seems like there are alot of changes in NP after we'll left. GSM spending quite a large sum of money on 7 letters (wtf!?!?!), and even the new MCM are beginning to understand how it feels to work with him. hopefully it will all be better when LLM returns, but i have a feeling that even LLM will feel quite weird with a new HO and all. suddenly thinking of the reasons why i'm becoming a CI again.....rethinking the pros and cons (although this isn't exactly the best time).

oh well, will keep this one short, tomorrow chem prac last shift (ARRGGHHH!!) anyone sabos me you're gonna be able to see your own body from the back without the help of a mirror!!! (if you know what i mean) ok people, 3 weeks more. endure, ren, tahan, SUCK IT UP PEOPLE!!! Cheers.

even more visits...

morning went to NJ with tze (refuses to allow me to write pang) and zun chen. we were 1st greeted by ppl from canoeing, track and field and the interact club (anyone knows wat this is all abt please enlighten me). then walk walk, hell lot of steps :p, but not so bad lah. quite a lively place, just that the grey doors make it look a wee bit duller, but it's ok all the same. ran into glenn and kah wee (looking short amongst his friends). glenn was ahem ahem....SLACKING, damn school council. refused to give me the pack, in the end his council friend gave it to me, damn bugger. but at least he showed me the way to the gym lah. THX GLENN!!! not as bad as kah wee, who was standing in a TALL corner just yakking away with his friends, tt's even worse than glenn!!! saw xue hui and calvin TOO. xue hui with his bball, and calvin was "teaching" this girl how to shoot the air rifle, he seemed very content i must say :p walked around the school for about one hour. the library there, quite sad lah. after that went SA, oh well the building is quite unkept, since they will be moving soon as well. got green moss growing everywhere :p met alot more ppl there. met some primary school friends, and some SJI ppl as well. anywayz they had this quite well coordinated mass dance on the track, quite nice to see lah. but the study environment there isn't too good. their library isn't that great either, although i must say slightly better than NJ. but i wouldn't really mind going to SA, only the state of the buildings make it seem like quite a sad place, moss everywhere. somehow that place also reminded me of SJI, with trees all around (there are a hell lot of trees!!!)

Final conclusion 1: SJI has the biggest canteen in the whole of Singapore
Final conclusion 2: SJI has the biggest library in the whole of Singapore (amongst schools only lah of course)
Final conclusion 3: i don't think i would want to go to HC or RJ even if i had the choice, coz at HC MUST take 4 A level subs., and the environment at RJ is just to stressful and saddening.

But oh well, 1st 3 months still CJC for me, which didn't have open house. Some theories i've thought up are
1.: they know that they've got so many affiliated secondary schools, (more than 10) that they don't need to have an open house, and people will still go there!!
2. all the people rejected from the top few JCs will end up there anyway... :p

after all the open houses, went to chinatown pt for chem tuition. arrived there 45 mins early loh, coz the last time i took the MRT i was late, but this time i'm SO DAMN EARLY!!! so i just sat on a step, leant forward, and took a nap. slept for 15 mins, then 10 mins :p felt a bit better after that lah. reached home at about 6.15, tired..........wanna zzzzzzzzzzz, but then also cannot zzzzzzzz, coz must do some english and SS. must bring either my SS or history bk to church tomorrow to study before it starts!!!

exactly 9 days to the 3rd of Nevember, the beginning of our written papers...........damn fast, damn freaking fast, before we know it it will all be over, so hang in there people, and remember that we reap what we sow, so just mug damn hard for one last week, and we can all feel satisfied at the end of it that we've tried our best, and we can enjoy our short break. Cheers!!

visitation of houses that were open ;)...

today went to RJ and HC open house with pang, ian and zun chen. met at jelita, then walked in, and realised that poor ian only had 10 cents on him :p anyway RJ, quite saddening, i found the area quite cramped, and very pressurising, makes one feel kind of claustrophobic. i guess it was only better because of the band playing and all the people walking around, but i imagined the place without so many people, and it would seem really really stressful. HC was definitely better than RJ. in terms of amout of items planned, the the quality of things set up. the whole ambience of the place was also much much better. the people there seemed more cheerful and enthusiastic as compared to the RJ ppl. oh well, i don't really intend to go to either of them anywayz, but just went to see what the inside of the school was like, and some facilities that the school has. come to the conclusion that the SJI canteen is one of the biggest in all the schools in singapore, including JCs. i don't know about polytechnics though, but will seek to solidify this finding when i go to NJ and SA this saturday.

went out for dinner with visiting relatives from hong kong. had nice prawn tofu, minced meat, sliced fish, mee sua, and a whole load of other nice nice stuff. the restaurant was behind the raffles hotel. it was in one of those refurbished shophouses, like those in chinatown, real nice feel to it all. my uncle (who was also taught by tang wing kee!!!) commented that i really look like half my mum and half my dad. if you've noticed, i've got a double eye-lid on my left eye, and a single eye-lid on my right. double is from my dad, and singleis from my mum. my nose looks like my dad's, my jaw and ears look like my mum's. and my hair is also wavy, which is from my mum. but my eyes-lids, quite funny lah. one eye from each parent :p

realised that i haven't really been able to get down to working as hard as i did before the prelims. like no matter how hard i try to work, my mind just drifts, and the prospect of working just disappears, as my mind shuts down :( oh well, shall TRY my best to do some chemistry now, or maybe maths, haiz can't decide, as both need alot of work, dang it. oh well, hope all u ppl reading me blog have better luck at studying than i've been having. Cheers.

no longer a water boy...

today was......unproductive (damn it!!!) morning went school for history and maths. what matthews went through is everything that i studied before the prelims loh, and she didn't go through anything that i haven't studied yet. bloody hell, she said she was going to go through China, then in the end did switzerland and WWI. basket, almost fell asleep in my place, if not for xin sitting next to me. thanx xin. maths was...........interesting i shall say :p. did half of november 2002 a maths paper 2. did at a super duper slow pace man, most of the time was tokking cock with all the ppl arnd me. haiz, hardly did any maths, wasted my time in school, except that i saw a few certain people quite a few times lah *wink wink*

after tt arnd 12, stoned in the canteen, slowly eating lunch, yakked with xin, raoz, brenz, nicky and friends for a while. when the 1.40 bell rang went to library to read papers. looks like bush has too many personnel, over 100 secret service agents loh!!! then on the way to school, saw police motorcycles a distance apart from each other, on the road adjoining to the PIE, after tt yue hong told me that there were policemen on the overhead bridge as well, the one outside tanglin. well i guess it's necessary, since he's claimed to be the "most powerful man on earth", but i don't know how true that statement is lah, since Saddam and Osama seem quite powerful people as well. But i ain't gonna weigh their "power", got much better things to do :p

went to pang's house. tried to study, managed to revise one chapter of history (sucks...so damn slow). ian ended up eating........as usual. then went for a swim. haven't swam for 1 year already, and i felt damn tired after swimming only a short distance loh. shit man, no longer a water boy anymore. can't even hold my breath and swim for 25 metres...HOW HOW HOW!?!?! must swim lots lots more after exams. but it was a good feeling to get underwater again. being able to exercise without feeling the sweat. the only problem was tt the water made my eyes so damn dry after that, they were all red at the end, like bloodshot. was damn painful.....wash and wash, until now still a wee bit red. :(

during dinner was watching casper on HBO, a very nice movie. a great movie about friendship, love, and just fitting in. and besides christina ricci quite cute in this movie :) and casper looks better as a ghost than as a boy i must say, sadly. anywayz i doubt you can still find the VCD out there, much less the DVD, but if you've got HBO, i suggest you watch this movie, even if it might be labeled as kiddish.

tomorrow going to RJ open house with ian and pang, just for fun, and to give my sister a "report" on what's going on in her old school. saturday going SA, NJ and HC with pang. for me NJ and HC is for fun also lah, since i don't wanna go there, just wanna see what it's like to be in these "top" JCs.

Finally changed my music, to something a weeee bit slower than linkin park, but equally as nice. pics are all up too, almost everything that i took during the past few weeks. chose not to put some up for certain reasons that anyone other than me does not need to know. Cheers people, and keep mugging, it will all be over soon!!!

standard procedure...

life nowadays damn standard. more standard than before prelims. here's what my timetable looks like generally...

0830: report to school library and read newspapers.
0900 - 1200: mug mug mug
1200 - 1300: eat eat eat
1300 - 1330: try to have a nap in the library without getting caught :p
1330 - 1600: mug mug mug somemore
1600 - 1700: go school track and exercise, sweat out all the toxins!!!!

after tt go home, either do somemore work, or just zzzzzzzzzzz........

today about the same. but for exercise, ran 3 rounds, 100 pushups and 100 crunches. then SGC, neo and shaun came along. played 2 on 2 soccer.........phew, tt was tiring, but damn fun!! managed to finish mgs e maths paper 2, and RI physics paper 2 sections A and B.....tired :(

decided to take lindy's advice, and change my music like once a week. but i think this can only take effect after the Os, since playing the music is getting kinda boring....will see how lah. can't wait for my roll of film to be developed, then can add all the picsss, should be damn interesting, seeing cheng with her ghostly white face and her scaringly red lips, like some pontianak tt just sucked someone's blood!!! oh wait, do pontianaks suck blood in the 1st place??? hmmm...gotta check out that one, somehow or another....... btw FUZZ, typing a whole load of hahas and lalalas and dots is not a very fair competition lah.........:p anywayz gd luck to all the ppl taking their Bio prac tomorrow, all the best yeah!! Cheers.

end to 4 magical years....

today officially marks the end of my career as an SJI student. WWAAAHHHHHH!!!! SO FAST!!!!! i can still remember my 1st day as sec 1 loh. all went to the hall in the morning, before that walked around a bit, as blur as ever (like all sec 1s are). was 1st allocated to 1E10, after tt was transfered to 1E8, under TWK (best teacher on earth). at that point i had absolutely no idea what i was going to do next, like i said, blur lah. now *boom*, end of sec 4. quite scary. next thing A levels, then army then dunno what else. it's going scaringly fast.

paraliturgy today was meaningful. on my star i wrote tang wing kee, mrs cheng, SJI NPCC and tze wei & rao....they'll probably destroy the stars after tt lah, but they asked us to write who has made an impact on our lives, so there.. decided to write SJI NPCC coz got so many ppl to name, so just summarised it into one category :D. sec 4 farewell, i actually paid attention during the whole of mr lui's speech. not bad. name was mentioned again for being UGO leader, along with nicky and other ppl. quite a good feeling lah i must say :p. zi xin did his "tai tai tai" tune again with his finger waving in my face, bloody *toot*. haha, dun worry xin i dun hate you. sec 4 teachers collaborated to sing a song, quite meaningful. tan sia hui can sing quite well man, i was quite amazed. cheng, TEH and CF refused to sing, damn it! the whole thing ended by 11.30, when the programme said that it would end at 12.30. :p

took alot of pics today too, battery almost died on me. took pics with classmates, mr ghazali, miss boon, b.poon, mr chandra (who is retiring), chen sao, and some other teachers lah. at least next 2 weeks still got extra lessons, can still take other pictures if i want. got back report books as well, when i saw mrs cheng's comments i felt quite good loh, coz honestly all the things she writes about i don't even know i'm doing them loh!! :p if u wanna know wat it says ask me, if not then nvm.

WE'RE CLASS CHAMPIONS!!!! didn't have enough medals, and they weren't even the real ones :p wonder when we'll get the real ones. then can add to the one i have from 2E8 2nd place. considering the fact that i didn't contribute to this year's competitions (due to certain ppl who refused to let anyone else play), i still feel quite good about it. must congratulate lawrence house, rags to riches house!! michael house....hmmm............... gd luck to next years house leaders lah, tt's all i can say.

after tt went library to try and study. sad to say didn't do alot today. i ended up sleeping for half an hour without even knowing it. woke up and asked ian "how long have i been sleeping?" and he said "about half an hour". i was bloody stunned!!! but i felt better after tt. read in the papers after tt that Col Noel Cheah, the guest-of-honour for this year's AP is in deep trouble now. bloody commandos screwing up their own reputation. 1st was the logistics problem which saw them kicked out of the best SAF company competition. now a commando trainee died, these guys are fucking themselves up man. SAF supposed to be damn pro, then like so many deaths all of a sudden, haiz....

arnd 4.30 went to exercise with ian. did 3 rounds of circuits which basically is 1.2 km and 75 pushups. didn't do crunches coz track was wet. ian did 5 rounds, and collapsed on the floor after i forced him to do 15 pushups with me. he absolutely collapsed, breathing damn heavily. but at least his eyes were open *phew*. after tt he looked shagged out, but i felt damn good!!!

oh well, like they say, all good things come to an end, and this wonderful thing is ending for me. from stepping into SJI on the 1st day of school, from joining SJI NPCC, to becoming DySI, and then later SI. i've met so many great people, people whom i'm going to have a hard time forgetting, and now graduating as part of the class of 2003. SJI NPCC ex-sec 4s, on graduation dinner must do one last lim zui hoh as a squad, since there will be drinks there, might as well take the opportunity. i know i'll most probably be coming back as CI, but nothing beats being a student in SJI....

Hail Hail Alma Mater
Hail to SJI
We'll hold your banner high with pride
A shield of green and white
We'll fight to keep your glory bright and never shall we fail
Hail to thee our alma mater
HAIL HAIL HAIL!!!

For glory, for honour, for SJI NPCC.
Ora Et. Labora
Pray and Work

I will continue, oh my god, to do all my actions for the love of you.

preparing for Os...

whole week has been spent studying. been studying alot harder than i had before the prelims. thinking abt what score i would find "appropriate" for my Os. I think i'll be happy with a 12. but anywayz, anything i get below 15 is good for me. spent yester-afternoon and this afternoon in the library mugging with ian yappy nad zun chen. to be honest i never worked 3 hours in a row before the prelims. mainly catching up with all the damn homework i've been getting, all past year papers. had chem, phy, both maths, english homework to do. now only left maths and chem, expecting to get alot more papers next week.

today RME period was swapped with reviewing of our SS papers in the LT. jeremy liew today like damn calm today, either he doesn't give a damn whether we pay attention, or he's just really in a good mood today. whole LT was so freaking noisy, had difficulty listening at some parts. after tt malcolm wong went through the SEQs. i fell asleep after question 2, coz tt's the question tt i did. :p after tt, john con came in to promote bears. yes, you heard me right, bears... teddy bears to be exact. 1st he brought the IJ bear, and after a bit of explanation, said tt the IJ bear got "lonely", and he brought out, can you believe it, the SJI bear!!! :p there's a school U one (shorts by the way), the PT kit one (with funny duddy words behind it), and the beany bear version, also in PT kit. the only things is the big bears cost $30 each!!! and they're not that big. the beany bear itself cost $12. oh well, watever the case is, john con is a damn "good" salesman. really funny lah. i also dunno y goh poh kenn came along also. once she entered the room, the whole room went quiet in a few seconds. however, she loses to CF, as when CF enters the room, the room is silent IMMEDIATELY!!! the all amazing powers of the "dark lord" :p

lets see... next week is last week in school for us, and friday is paraliturgy. we'll learnt to fold some weird thingy for paraliturgy, have no idea what it is for yet, but must take a whole load of shots on friday. already bringing camera to school, taking a whole load of shots, hopefully can finish all 36 shots exactly on next friday. study study study, the only thing missing from this equation is sleep!!! damn it... tomorrow going to KAP to meet pang and yappy, study a whole lot more, then after tt go chinatown for chem....life, interesting thing that we have, which is full of ups and downs, full of ins and outs, but it's interesting all the same. mug hard ppl.....then after Os can go out and party!! Cheers.

A maths...of all the subjects to fail!!!

still feeling quite light and bouncy about my prelim results, even though its not one ppl in the upper floor would call "spectacular", but it's quite good for me already. found out last night that i can't do science stream since i failed my A maths. all i need is 1.5 marks to pass, crap man. oh well, in arts stream, choices between econs, lit, geog and history, and since i hate and suck at lit so much, i think i'll do econs, hist and geog for 1st 3 months. but then going to appeal to bro. paul, who MIGHT just let me take science stream since i only failed by 3 marks with a miserable 47!! since from SJI he also might give some chance lah.

today during chinese replacement period, again damn slack lah. without TPL in class is quite quiet, but once she's inside class ah, noise noise noise. cannot get any work done :p keerthi was going around comparing leg hair, measuring ppl's ears and fingers. tt's what you call absolute boredom, bored to the core!!! me also quite bored lah. neo, me and shaun tried pulling zi xin along with his chair. whenever i pull or push his chair, i end up moving instead of him!! during maths lessons today when TEH was going through e maths paper 1, she caught sach talking, and said "i'll minus 1 mark from your paper!!". then sachdev said "that's the problem i minus 2 marks!!" couldn't stop laughing after tt. summore sachdev's voice made it sound damn freaking funny. had the whole class in stiches i tell you. bloody joker.

oh yes, managed to get UGO student leaders scores. all scores are to the best of my memory. Kenny 8, Ben 10, Zhi Hong 11, Nicky 14 (sorry nick for the earlier mistake), Greg 20. hehe, me not last :p i know it sounds quite evil lah. but quite happy because i'm in the lowest class among the 6 of us!! :D majority of my class going either CJC or JI. not bad actually, from SJI to JI. huang was saying tt becoz we did so badly no longer "saint" already, so take away the 'S' :p oh well, must turn up the gas for preparation for me Os. i'm thinking about aiming for 7 pts, then i can minus another 12 pts from my prelim, that would be quite cool actually!!! 31-->19-->7 quite difficult i must say........but worth a shot anyhow. as poon said, when you apply for a job, they don't look at your prelim results but your O level results, so must really mug hard and chiong for this Os. good luck to all sec 4s reading this............Cheers!!!

Monday, October 06, 2003

Prelim results:

Now let's see....

Subject/ Prelim/ Mid-year

English/ A1/ B3

Chinese/ B3/ C5

E Maths/ B3/ C5

History+SS/ B3/ C6

Physics/ B4/ D7

Chemistry/ C5/ E8

A Maths/ D7/ C5 (damn paper 2!!!!)

L1R5/ 19/ 31 (HAHA 12 PTS LESS!! avg. of 2 pts per subj)

happy happy happy.............thought would get like 25!! looks like CJC for me.....not bad lah, just glad that i managed to qualify for JC! surprisingly my SS did better than my history!! and john con said tt our SS was horrendous........gave me a heart attack. 1st in class for english, 75 exactly. venod and haresh got 74....hehehe!!! but venod's oral beat mine by 2 marks, but my compo thrash his.........WAHAHAHAHAHA!!! only my A Maths deproved by quite alot, bloody paper 2 damn killer!! haha just feeling damn light and happy now, only gotta work on my A Maths, somehow. damn ian yappy said everything also "fail already lah", and in the end he got 7 pts, and his A2 was 74 marks loh!!!!! not so lah, only 1 more mark to get 6 pts, and he wants to go to CJC.....dunno wat's in his head also lah. CJC ain't so bad now, got the all mighty BRO. PAUL!! helped yank SJI up the rankings a few years ago, must help him make his magic again at CJC. Since so many ppl say that he's such a great principal, must go to the school where he's at and experience 1st hand what it feels like to be studying under him. the funny thing was they gave out my best 3 papers 1st, namely english, history/ss and e maths. after tt the results got worse and worse :p ...somehow the order was like tt. looks like one-third of SJI will be at CJC AGAIN!! not bad lah, at least there will be alot of familar faces. this morning was quite nerve wrecking, before the classrooms were opened, i spent my time looking out onto the field from the 2nd level foyer, enjoying a cool breeze, as i contemplated my fate :p.....oh yes....SHEM ANG!!!! dark horse man, suddenly history/ss became 1st in class A1...damn pro man shem, dunno how he managed to do tt also. during class tests always very mediocre or quite bad, but according to him for history he spotted question, but for SS he pia like shit. doubt it will work for me lah. can't take any risks for O levels. just hope i can do as well for english in the Os, english was my life saver man!!! oh well tomorrow back to school again, and the going through of all the papers...haiz..........number of days as a Josephian are slowly creeping away, must make the most of what's remaining, most probably bring camera during the week, finish up the film, and maybe finish a new one as well :p Cheers.

Thank you SJI...

Thanks for accepting me into the school
Thanks for putting up with all my crap
Thanks for teaching me how to live
Thanks for giving me four wonderful years
Thanks for allowing me to be one of many Josephians
Thanks for being SJI!!!

Grad ceremony was really really wonderful!! Although i was fighting a slight cold and sore throat, i still enjoyed myself. Sang really really loud!!! :D When the bagpipers marched in, i remembered how it was when i was there before, getting my ears blasted off, and trying to keep in timing. Throughout the whole ceremony, there was constant reminder of the "joyful" occasion on Monday. damn it!! grrrrrrr............ anywayz i enjoyed the end the most, when we sang the national anthem, did HAIL HAIL and our school cheer. Might not be the last time, coz still got paraliturgy, but it was one to be savoured indeed. And even though nyw told me that his speech was going to be one that was serious, i couldn't pick out any part of the speech where he was being serious :p. and i doubt the adding of "CF" helped to make it anymore serious. I bet CF has never ever been so happy, or at least embarrassed. All the scolding and his mighty finger pointing........was all turned into laughter and applause.........the look on his face was candid man!! Well at least he knows that even though he's the "Dark Lord", we still appreciate what he has done.

Oh yes, supposed to tell you'll about my sec 2 english and lit teacher. Mr. Kevin Cheng. young guy, about mid-twenties. dyed his hair, walks like a sissy, talks like a sissy, with all the hand waving. but scolds like a man!! i remember the time when he threw xue liang's table out the of the class. and i mean THROW!!! super duper pissed. and he's one of the few teachers in Singapore that use words like "you bitch!!" and "you bloody piece of shit!!" in class. the way he says it is damn funny, and when he says it he always points his finger at you in a sissy kinda way. one might call his method of teaching not as effective as other teachers, but he does his job well, takes pride in what he does (i think...), and nows how to relate to the students. He will sometimes join us at recess and tok cock with us. In fact he's the only teacher i know who does that!! i respect this guy not becoz of how he taught, but because of how he could so easily connect with students. but the best is still TWK, he's unbeatable man!! haha....come to think of it, most of my lower sec male teachers were all full of shit, but in a good way of course. :p just realised that i forgot my sec 1 science teacher's name. OH NO!!! die, my memory is already failing me!!! dang it! nvm, tok abt my sec 2 science teachers next time i blog.......Cheers!

Friday, October 03, 2003

Today was officially my last day as a Josephian, even though we still have 2 weeks of school. This is because is the 151st Anniversary Speech & Graduation Day is tomorrow!!!. 1st time it’s being held in the hall for a very long time. Really grand too, got wedding type chairs, and an improved sound system. It was moved to the hall to accomadate the 1000+ people that will be attending the function. I look forward to tomorrow, however.......... DAN DAN DAN DAAAAAAAA .....................D-Day is on Monday, when the earth’s anger will be felt from above, where its shattering strength will strike all right where it hurts. Haiz………..don’t look so far ahead 1st lah hoh? must reflect back on my past 4 wonderful and exciting years in SJI. lets see............ah yes!!!

Sec 1 & 2 form tutor: Mr Tang Wing Kee!!!! The "best" teacher i've ever had man. the one thing that i will remember the most about him is his ability to give pushups like nobody's business, but the inability to even do them. Also my maths teacher, his favourite time of the day was mental sums, with his little blue book and his metal ruler. but the best part came when he asked us for our marks. 5 marks: very good, full marks!!! 4 marks: good, next time try for full marks!! 3 marks: bad, nearly fail!! 10 pushups!!! 2 marks: bad, FAIL!!! 20 pushups!! 1 marks: horrible: 30 pushups!! 0 marks: YOU STUPID COW!!! besides his fetish for cows, he also had fetishes for his jackknife, his airborne badge, his ability to go diving and rollerblade. one could never forget his 3 favourite phrases........" Rain or shine, be on time", "don't be on time, be early" and the all time favourite........"NO BRAINS MUST HAVE MUSCLES!!!!" thus his love for giving us pushups if we do badly, as he believes that you do not need a very high level of education to become a bouncer!! :p Every now and then either norman or mark or qi hao will be sentenced to sit under his table and act as a foot rest for his ever tired foot. that is the sad cases lah, but non the less funny. But don't get me wrong, this guy gets a lot of respect from me. he's been teaching in SJI for 40++ years. he taught teo chee hean, my 2 uncles, one of which was teo chee hean's classmate, and even some teachers in SJI now!!! even though he claims that he vomits 3 buckets of blood at home everyday because of us, what the heck lah, cannot be real!!! he retired last year at the age of 64 to a very grand ceremony indeed! i really look forward to seeing him in 10 years time during reunion dinner, tt's if i'm not dead yet or in jail! heck even if i'm dead i'll rise up from the grave to see him!! i saw him this year though, at our 151st Anniversary Annual Parade. He was amongst the guests seated on the comfy green chairs all decked out in his NCC uniform, with which he wears his airborne badge with a hell lot of pride! now what else is there abt TWK??? oh yes, his beer belly and his black moustache!! now one would be surprised that his hair is still black even though he is 64 years old this year, and one would normally think that he dyed his hair. however........for the 2 years that he's taught me, i never even saw a single strand of white hair on his head!!! all i can say to this guy is THANK YOU!!!!

next post i shall talk about our faggarty sec 2 english and literature teacher Mr. Kevin Cheng!!!! don't miss out.........

not bad... :D

Season = Spring
You're Most Like The Season Spring ...

Fresh faced, with a young outlook on life - you
smile at the world and expect it to smile back
at you. You're mostly a bubbly, fun - innocent
person. Described as cute possibly. However,
you're a little naive about things and tend to
be a little too trustworthy.
As the first season, It Makes you the youngest -
and so most immature - but people are inclined
to look out for and protect you.

Well done... You're the most fun of the seasons :)

even more preliminary prelim results...

newest news: history elective one boy in my class got 23/25 for SEQ, have no idea who it is, could be yue chuan, shaun wong, sean tan, karthig, and the list goes on and on. i doubt it can be me, becoz like i said i've been on a downhill slide!! feel alot better than yesterday though, somehow. even though the feeling of gloom and death hangs in the air (so passe!!!) for monday. official last day as a Josephian is 17 October. 4 whole years of fun, training, studying, slacking as a josephian all coming to an end. end of my "legacy" :p

after school played badminton for a while at Tanglin. had games with ian, Fuzz and ET. zi xin and shaun came along like some really irritating "cheerleaders". sorry ian that i ended up playing with my friends and not you as intended, and you ended up eating chips with franklin. sorry sorry!! after that went to clementi to top up EZ link card..........saw quite a lot of hot chicks on the way :D talking about hot, last few days damn hot. last week rain rain rain, this week sun sun sun. haiz, should be used to it by now lah, since living in Singapore for 16 years already.

oh yes, Happy Children's Day, to all the kids at heart out there. was thinking about my primary school days on the bus. i doubt there is a single person in secondary school or above who doesn't miss primary school life. the "innocence", the fun-filled times, running around in the field and basketball before and after school with absolutely no care in the world. but seeing the kids nowadays, i really pity them. their bags are as big as their bodies, backs all hunched already, all wearing specs dunno whether from studying or from too much computer. But young kids nowadays rarely play outdoors anymore, because there is such a wide range of games to play on playstation, x box, nintendo, gameboy, PC, dreamcast and blah blah blah. i think the standard of living in singapore might have gone up, but the standard of its citizens are on the decline.

i'm generalising here, hopefully it doesn't come true in the near future. but as history shows, all great kings fall, no matter how great they are. however powerful someone may be there is always someone stronger to overthrow him. if you put this in the context of singapore, i really wonder how much longer this peace and security we feel in singapore will remain. sure we have a competant police force and a strong armed forces, but one would have noticed the increase in number of thefts and petty crimes recently. even though some would say that it's due to the economic downturn, once someone picks up the habit of theft to get easy cash, it's not easy to change it, because once someone has found an easy way out, he'll usually take it. it's just like electricity, it always takes the easier way, even though it might be longer :p Cheers.....
