bloody GP...

the paper was by my standards... of. but then when i read my compo, it felt so damn powerless, no 'umph' as some people would put it. got 24/50 for the past 2 tests, hoepfully can improve upon that this time. compre, i felt the same as my previous test, which i got 15/50 for. well i guess that's better than 8/50 for my first compre test hahaha. just hope for the best.

the most 1.5 weeks of my life officially began yesterday, with CIP in the morning and afternoon, then CI meeting at barker in the evening, then stayed over at LW's place. this morning left early for ubin, and came home rather late. a runthrough of the unfolded events...

CIP in the morning, was selling for KDF, Kidney Dialysis Foundation. not NKF, those people have too much money already. anywayz me and joshua walked around a small section of toa payoh but couldn't get much. just too much competition... there were NJ people who started earlier than us, and they were EVERYWHERE!!! like little bugs that couldn't be squashed, no offense :) then met shu fang and her judo friend at macs somewhere in toa payoh too, then they so kindly helped joshua and i collect some money. they managed to do in one hour what we did in like 2 hours... such failures guys are at collecting money, girls are so much better at doing it.

anywayz after that went to st joseph's home again, for the final time. this time attendance was the poorest. only like 12 people including kwee went. damn pathetic number... less than half the class. but oh well, did the same old normal routine with them, exercises and pushing them around. interesting experience lah, seeing all these elderly folk living out their lives in a home. i'm hoping that i'll become like some of them, and definitely not like some others...

after that rushed back home, showered, packed up and left for ACS barker for CI meeting. still haven't been able to have a meeting where ALL area CIs are able to make it. quite sad lah... anywayz discussed quite a lot of things, managed to cover quite a few things. after the meeting, i drew my chicken on the board, and ivy drew her hairy pig... looked rather disgusting actually, but oh well... all depends on how people look at it.

then og Newton Circus eat dinner, bloody waste of money. rice so friggin' bland, satay rather small, chicken so damn oily could feel it oozing, bloody sick. then go LW's house, i fell asleep on the floor in the living room while they were watching tv. really cannot tahan, just konked out on the floor. then suddenly heard a car horn, then jay jay left, and went upstairs to sleep. wah karen on the bed cannot stop talking loh, us 3 guys on the floor trying to sleep, then after a while we were the noise makers, then after a while our mouths got tired then we fell asleep :p

early morning wake up go ubin, eat breakfast at changi village. cycle cycle cycle... explore a bit, don't know how on earth ta hoong can remember where to go so well, ass burning, damn seat on the bike is the old one with no suspension and bloody narrow, even now when i sit down my ass hurts. luckily the thing in front of my ass doesn't hurt after what i had to do to prevent banging into this kid who suddenly ran in front of me. the bike i got today just sucked lah... kept squeaking, tore my track pants, pedals don't always hook with the chain, causing my leg to slip now and then. first time recce the bike was so nice!!! can bounce around and it wouldn't hurt at all!!! forced me to go queensway to buy 2 new trackpants. anyway i guess it was about time, the track pants that tore were from my sec 2 days hahahaha... old stuff, tight around the waist too.

now at home... coming up with funny ideas regarding certain people again, don't know why also... getting all these weird notions of what people are thinking, but they do make a BIT of sense lah thanks goodness!!! gotta meet cindy sometime this week to get my backpack back for ATC... but don't know when to also... schedule so damn packed. time to makan my 2nd dinner. Cheers!

First exam of JC...

GP paper will be on friday. tomorrow got no school as they want to give us a "day to study". well i guess it's a good idea, since GP isn't going well for ANYONE at the moment. everyone's failing... or at best JUST passing. damn AQ questions... so mafan.

CA already quite f-ed up :( going to be doing alot of running between SJI and CJC, hahaha one of the reasons why i wanted to get into CJ was because of it's close proximity to SJI, and i guess it's all paid off!!! WAHAHAHAHA!!!! Cheers.

The Rules for being human...

got this from an email xin sent to me...

1. You will receive a body.
You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period.

2. You will learn lessons.
You are enrolled in an informal school called Life. Each day in this school, you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons.
Growth is a process of trial and error. Experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately "works".

4. A lesson is repeated until learned.
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. You can then go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning lessons does not end.
There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

6. "There" is no better than "here."
When your "there" has become a "here," you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here."

7. Others are merely mirrors of you.
You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you either love or hate about yourself.

8. What you make of your life is up to you.
You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9. Your answers lie inside you.
The answers to Life's questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.

10. You will forget all this.

~by Cherie Carter-Scott~

the last rule REALLY got me thinking... think about it too yah? Cheers.

original sin on star movies... tomb raider on cinemax... the animal on HBO, formula one monaco race on star sports, all on the same timeslot. never had so many choices on cable TV before hahaha.

The return of the killer maths...

last night (or shall i say early this morning) was doing maths... listening to the Bond music looping infinitely in this blog :p managed to finish one tutorial in the end. quite glad that i managed to finish it. but when i moved onto the next one, i just felt... tired. couldn't keep my eyes open already. struggled on till about 3.30, then i lay on the floor with my head on my thick ass file, and dozed off. all this while i left my blog window open, so of course the music was still playing. next thing i woke up it was 6.06, and the first thing i heard was... BOND!!! hahaha, but the first thing i felt was my tailbone hurting like hell :p damn wooden floor. so this morning slept for 2.5 hours in my half CJ uniform, hadn't showered the previous night. so got up and showered. stoned around for the whole morning, and now i'm going back to do my maths soon. should get around to my physics and econs soon, but got to finish this damn maths first.

music without much lyrics is more suited for blogs i find, since you're kind of preoccupied reading, you don't want more words floating through your mind. maybe i should find a more soothing Bond song... but i guess this will do for now.

You practise favouritism... what a sucky attitude... i feel sorry for myself now, and for those who have suffered the same as me, and for those to come.

Cheers.

is this kind of pressure necessary???

haven't felt this kind of pressure since O levels... mum is chasing me up to do work again, and me as always reluctantly dragging my ass up the stairs to the room. argh i know i need to work, but i just can't seem to get my brain into "work" mode again, the kind of mode that i had before my prelims. i think i'm not the kind who can study on my own, because i find it absolutely boring, no sort of stimulation at all (except the sound of my parents coming up the stairs). i know that if i were to study the way i did for prelims now i'd definitely burn out before june next year, and that's a fact, so when do i start? what worked at O levels won't work for A levels, and that is studying last minute, because there's just too much content to cover at the last minute. i don't want to be retained, that's the most f-ed up feeling in the world, knowing that i've wasted one year of my entire life for nothing.

i don't want to be retained... i can't be retained... i won't be retained!

CJ sports carnival...

just got back from sports day not long ago, was held at CCAB, ex-NIE. anyway it was an overall interesting event, must say that the games that the PE department came up with were very creative indeed. anywayz shall just announce the places of the games we won.

2.4 challenge: 2nd
400 girls: 1st (Marian, damn good race)
800 Boys 3rd (Ganeshan)
4x400 girls: 3rd (man yun did damn well, from 2nd last to 2nd on her lap)
4x400 boys: 3nd (ganesh was beaten by only a small margin, lost out right at the end!)
Eco challenge: 2nd
4x50 freestyle relay: 2nd
Overall points for sports carnival: 2nd

we also took part in mixed-netball and a fun race in swimming. didn't manage to get any for both, but we did quite ok in them lah. for mixed-netball... won T14 10-1, but lost to T7 3-4, which prevented us from advancing. for the fun race, which wee koon, louis and i took part in, it was actually meant to be a 6-man race, but then only 3 of us took part, so each of us had to swim twice. at the end of it we got 2nd, but were disqualified. this is basically because when louis was swimming across with the kickboard, he put it inbetween his legs. but it's extremely unfair as we were only told that we had to swim across with the kickboard, and they said nothing about HOW we were to bring it over. dang it... swam so bloody hard, thighs were cramped up, just couldn't move towards the end.

hopefully next year we can do as well, if not even better. just depends on how our junior class is next year. hopefully we get a good one. our classes (1T19 and 2T19) worked quite well together, both classes pulled their weight. quite glad that we could achieve this. i think i'm going to start swimming again, somehow or another. can train my pullups through swimming too anywayz, so why not? Cheers.

one more to join the bunch...

brendan just got his letter (email) to say that he's been accepted into J'04 CI course. WOOHOO!!!! ONE MORE CI!!! right now the more the merrier lah coz kah wee, glenn and ta hoong all leaving after august. 3 of us got to work our asses off already :p looks like my batch was the last batch to get their acceptance notice by mail. but i think mail is still better, more professional, plus the letter can be kept for good old times sake :)

last 2 days been having quite an interesting time on msn. squadmates gathering together to talk cock, cock, and more cock. cannot have more cock to talk about except with these guys man. hahahaha.... talking about everything!!! from the JCs we're in now... to the length of the skirts of the girls there :p and of course the girls there, the food there, how daren is still looking at guys, uppants-ing them :p basically everything we talk about, not many would find interesting unless you know where we're coming from. 4 years together does things to you hahahaha... haven't talked so much cock on msn for so long already.

just got mid-year exam timetable today... got to work my ass off during the march holidays. especially for physics... beginning to lag behind in maths already, but physics is really quite bad. at least i finally understand gravitation... with the GM/r crap, and how gravity pulls things here and there hahaha. can't seem to think of anything else to do except sleep nowadays, but right now i'm slogging away at maths, trying to solve these damn trigo identities problems, and not having a clue at what formula to use and when :p at least i know the formulae exist lah, that's the first step to passing i guess...

vball training on monday kind of sucked for me. mainly because hadn't played vball for one week after the trials, which kind of screwed up my whole system. couldn't even friggin' dig properly... kenna go over and over again. sucks like hell... but at least the spikes were ok, and finally getting the hang of serving. but i definitely need more practise though!!!

oh yeah no more treasurer liaoz... passed it all on to tini. so no more money in my bag, no more teachers running after me for money (even though we owe kwee like hundred over bucks, but he'll claim it as a lump sum at the end of the term) still got to get those damn GP files though... must finish up what i started i guess.

i need to sleep... and i want to sleep... but one thing stopping me is something called homework... screw homework... not all adults have homework... so at least they can slack at home at night and watch TV... but we can't... life ain't exactly fair i guess... so just gotta get on with it and try not to put too many dots everywhere. Cheers.

memories of mass PE...

oh well got mass PE again tomorrow... just to share with you'll the common sounds you'll hear at CJC's mass PE...

1. "HOW DO YOU FEEL?" "WONDERFUL!"
2. "HOW MANY MORE?" "MANY MANY MORE!"
3. "UNDERWEAR?" "WET WET! DON'T BELIEVE COME AND CHECK!"
4. (after running to the top of the grandstand) "I LOVE MASS PE!" (with many fingers crossed of course)

in for a hell of a time again tomorrow. Cheers.

i need to gain weight...

but how to do it? i've got absolutely no friggin' idea. been trying for the past year... but i can never seem to reach the 65kg mark. always floating between 61 and 64 :( how to gain weight when i'm suddenly doing all this running!?!?!? been trying to eat more lah, but then no matter how much i eat, it all also goes away somehow or another. geez... weight weight weight... so easy to lose you... so difficult to gain you... hmmm that sounds familiar. oh well...

earlier tonight, met lizz to go for a run/walk. first ran to her place, then just walked and talked. the walking part didn't seem that long, probably because we kept talking :p have no clue how long we walked for, but then just walked, and eventually walked past my house on the way back to her place. so walked her to her place, then ran home. took the longer route, and just ran. not bad can tell that my stamina is improving. actually ran pretty fast without needing to breath that heavily.

tomorrow going to st joseph's home again. supposed to have a CI meeting at st. gabs for sec 3 ATC, but then i can't go because of bad timing, so left with kah wee and glenn to go. hopefully we fit in... most probably will be going for this ATC. hopefully got some D'03 people i know there.

haha i feel alot better now, wonder how you feel at this point of time now that you know the truth... actually still got plenty to tell you, but that'll have to wait. Cheers

another trial... another success...

yesterday was volleyball team trials. that would be the 2nd time i've tried out for school team in CJ, and i did it!!! so now i'm officially in the CJ volleyball team. sure they ain't the best team in singapore, but things can improve. anywayz... Derek got in too, and freddy, brandon and bernard... the original 5 of us who trained under "8 peg" Pamela. at the end of it we all went to hug her (couldn't see her among our mass of bodies) and thanked her. clarrisa got in because she got previous team experience, and "chipmunk" maryanne got in too. unfortunately tini didn't make it. so that makes 4 out of 5. felt damn bad for her... derek and i didn't really know what to say, because we both felt that it would've been like 2 people who successfully gotten in, trying to laugh at her lah. one wrong word and it would have made it seem that we were dissing her. :( sent her a few messages after that, she seems ok. goodluck for your netball tini!!!

in case any of you are wondering why the tag in my tagboard about ninja and ninjatsu. well that's because chipmunk gave me the nickname of ninja turtle... basically because she claims that i look like one :p hahaha looks like watching all them cartoons when i was younger did me good! :p

this friday got PW block period from 12.30 to 4.30. and that absolutely sucks because i usually end at 2.30 on fridays. that means i got to cancel my tuition, and go home late again. :( why of all days a friday!?!? why not monday or thursday?!!?! haiz such bad timing, nothing we can do about it. anywayz talking about PW, proposal got approved today. sticking to researching on the evolution of budget airlines. was quite an interesting path to this though... at first we wanted to do space travel, then moved to air travel as a whole, such as speed and capacity. then we cut it down to budget airlines to have a more focused project. hopefully this thingy works out fine... i've got faith in my group members!!! wiz, man yun, derek and xuan rui. have alot of faith in them after what i've seen over the past few weeks! :)

people getting sick (and injured) again... must be due to the irregular weather. bang got ear infection, is practically deaf in one ear. raoz knee is still injured after heaven knows how long... chipmunk got a sore throat yesterday. uhhh... but people like shufang who get injured, is kind of because they asked for it lah, being in judo and all. :p anywayz hope all these people get well soon. kwee had a flu last week, but he's getting better too! take care of health people, extremely important!!! although getting sleep nowadays is a bit difficult, but just got to work with what we've got. Cheers.

NAPFA targets for CJC...

today's mass PE was absolutely "wonderful". ran 10 rounds, about 100 pushups, 50 sit ups, 50 crunches, 50 leg raises, 30x8 jumping jacks, 30 burpees, 10 grandstands, and 4 sets of 15 inclined pullups. but must say i didn't sweat as much as last week... couldn't squeeze sweat out. :p

right at the end mr foo told us the napfa expectations. by end of J1, 80% pass... by end of J2, 77.5% silver and above!!! big difference don't you think! but i really hope i can reach that standard. need it for NS anywayz...

weather in singapore getting a bit wonky nowadays... rain like mad one moment, next moment hot like siao! :p my uncle visiting from overseas nearly got heatstroke!!! really wonder what's going on with the earth's climate recently...

after school today headed down to SJI for sports heats. the word heats was very appropriate as it was blazing hot! anyway man yun did well for her 100m. 4x100 for girls we got 3rd, and 4x100 for guys we got 4th. wonder how far we'll be able to go. by the time i got back... it was about 5.30, so majority of the teachers were gone. saw nathan just walking around, and lui's car was still in the carpark. was good to be back at SJI for an activity, although in a different uniform, but inside me still a josephian! :) Cheers.

stuck in a hole...

suddenly i feel like i'm stuck in a hole, that keeps getting both deeper and shallower at different times of the day. sometimes i feel so stuck, cold, indecisive. sometimes i feel freer, less troubled, more in control. but no matter how free i feel, the feeling of me choking comes back again... like living in a cigarette smoke filled room, with an oxygen tank that's running low. up till now i still cannot fathom how or why this happened, but what's done is done. what's past is past and those times will never come back again... just hope i understand the reasons before it kills me. Cheers.

first visit to an old folks' home in... more than 6 years!!!

that's a really long time. the last time i can really remember going was before primary 5 :p anywayz... woke up at 11 today, which was a good 10 hours sleep. and it felt damn good!!! but i think i still need more... got a hell lot of physics to catch up on!!!

met up at boon lay bus interchange to visit st. joseph's home as part of CIP with CJC. only 13/27 people went. but i guess it's ok coz if the residents at the home saw so many young people, and the amount of noise we could have made, they might just have gotten a heart attack!! hahaha...

first watched a video about the home and stuff, then we were showed the facilities at the home. the chapel there is bigger than the one at SJI, but i still think the one at SJI is nicer. quite a big land space, and very well kept... nice homey feeling. only problem is if it rained, the corridors would get wet really easily. anywayz after that helped out the old folks in some exercises. mainly hand-eye and hand-hand coordination stuff. after that just pushed them to the dining area, and after helping a couple of them move from table to table, we left. it seemed like a really short visit. but if i'm not wrong, we're going back there 3 more times within this month.

on the way back to boon lay MRT at the bus interchange, met ding hao selling flags for singapore children's society!! hahaha he still looks the same even though he was in his SA uniform. poor guy had been selling for 2++ hours, and he looked kinda... sian :p

after that some people left for shawn's birthday BBQ at east coast park. me? i came home to do some R & R. still got alot of rest to catch up with. and like i mentioned earlier, alot of work too. decided that for the first time in my entire life, i shall do well for mid-years!!! probably the main motivation is that 20% will be counted towards our promos :p looks like it's working! main thing scaring me the most now is GP. physics not so bad because i can at least study and improve... but GP, a bit hard to study lah. O level english is nothing compared to GP. i'd rather get a B4 or C5 for english and do damn well in GP, than get straight A1s for english and fail GP. crappy stuff. really got to change my writing style... what seemed to work at O level is obviously not working here. and comprehension? don't even talk about it... feel like blasting something!

haiz i suddenly felt confused again today... just walked looking at the ground immediately in front of my feet all the way from buona vista MRT to my house, with linkin park in my ears. find that walking that distance is a very good way to think... or just stone. can't seem to get over it... even though i think it's best that i do. Cheers.

am i regretting my life???

this is a story that xin forwarded to me... take the time to read it, as i feel that is has much meaning behind it.

--------------------------------------------------------
The Staircase of Life

There were once 2 brothers who lived on the 80th level. On coming home one day, they realized to their dismay that the lifts were not working and that they had to climb the stairs home. After struggling to the 20th level, panting and tired, they decided to abandon their bags and come back for them the next day. They left their bags then and climbed on. When they had struggled to the 40th level the younger brother started to grumble and both of them began to quarrel. They continued to climb the flights of steps, quarreling all the way to the 60th floor. They then realized that they had only 20 levels more to climb and decided to stop quarreling and continue climbing in peace. They silently climbed on and reached their home at long last. Each stood calmly before the door and waited for the other to open it. It was then that they realized that the key was in their bags which were left on the 20th floor!

That story is an analogy of how most people live their lives. We burden our childhood with the expectations of others, and live out our teenaged years doing what others think we should be doing. We carry these expectations until we can no longer believe in their worth.

By the time we reach our 20s, we are sick of this load and finally dump it. Finally free from the pressure of having to live our lives for others, we work enthusiastically and begin to build that castle of gold we aspire towards by laying the first few bars.

But by the time we reach our 40s, we find that we've become disillusioned with our dreams and aspirations. Discontentment sets in, and we begin to gripe, complain, and criticize. Our belief that life is miserable is so strong that we have effectively shut out the things which would have made life meaningful and joyous.

Upon reaching our 60s, we've grown weary of whining, and finally decide to live the rest of our lives in peace and resignation. We manage to deceive ourselves into thinking that at this point, nothing in this world can faze or disappoint us.

But as we lie there in our beds, waiting for the journey to finally come to an end, we tragically realize that we're unable to leave this earth in peace because we had so many unfulfilled dreams. The dreams that we cast away, along with the burden of expectations so many years ago.

So whichever level of the Staircase of Life you're presently at, take a long, hard look at the life you've lived so far.

Did you waste a good part of it seeking the approval of others?
Did you abandon your dreams because they didn't match the expectations of others?
Did you squander a large part of your life bearing grudges, making invisible enemies, and complaining about the terrible state of your life?
Did you dismiss your youthful aspirations by thinking that you're much too old to pursue them any longer?

Always remember to carry your dreams with you every step of the way.
Do not end up with a bag of regrets.

memories... distant and recent ones...

was talking to xin about some stuff in SJI. we were both there on friday, but that bugger didn't come to find me lah... basket. too busy spending time in the office enjoying air-con!!! hahaha... anyway it turns out SJI is having that evacuation drill this friday... last time they had that was when i was in sec 3, fire engines, smoke simulations, SJAB and teachers running around transporting "casualties". best part of that was... the teachers taking our attendance in the field, were all carrying umbrellas!!! and you have to wonder where they would have time to grab umbrellas if there's a real fire :p but just standing there, watching them wearing their big hats and umbrellas was a good relief from the heat i must say.

a few things i remembered when i was back at SJI on friday. took a walk to the handball court, just to visualise a captain's ball game there. anyway at one point just stood there, remembering all our slack PE lessons. handball, hockey, touch rugby, soccer competition and stuff. walked around the handball court for like 5 minutes, just visualising, then moved on to the pullup bars. my nightmare for most of my sji career! :p anyway tried out my "new found abilities" on the bars there, and WAHAHAHAHAHA felt damn good :p

thinking back on the little times that we spent together, i guess it was all fun. so thanks for those times, made the transition all the bit better. but i guess situation changes, and time to move on. so have fun yah? :)

PE in the morning was... fun let's say. medicine balls in the hall. throwing them around as if we didn't have anything better to do. oh wait... we DID have nothing better to do :p after all it was PE... and the hall was stuffy as ever, even with the fans on!

volleyball trials was cancelled, due to the incessant rain. but nevertheless we played in the rain. me, derek, freddy, pamela and cindy. quite pleased with my improvement. can control the ball alot better now!!! after like 2 hours of constant digging, played a little "match". but this match was just practising on court movement and stuff lah. service is ok i guess, whereas spiking... can be improved lah duh even though i managed to spike one good one. nice *piak* sound!! hahaha... trials now postponed to monday, friday and saturday intend to train with my class people... hopefully it all works out.

i need to sleep, yet i've got quite alot of stuff to do. maths homework, physics homework, npcc work, tuition work, wonder where sleep fits in with all that stuff. now CSI is showing, really want to watch that show... best series on TV 2nd only to F.R.I.E.N.D.S. if u ask me, but i guess things like that aren't necessarily as important as work. work work work, my life until December next year. hopefully can squeeze some other things in between there, but one never knows. Cheers.

beginning of DIY...

ran 2.4 this morning before school started. and i think i run faster in the morning than during PE lessons. maybe because my muscles are still "fresh", or simply because the weather is cooler. oh well whatever it is shall have to time myself in the morning one of these days. anywayz the track was rather crowded this morning. reached there at about 6.45, and there was so many people (or at least when compared to other mornings where i've run) saw ian running on the track so just joined him. crazy bugger had already run 7 rounds, and was going for 8 MORE!!! crazy person his knees are going to give way soon... anywayz on my end of my 4th lap, brenz joined me. cool reebok shirt he was wearing man... but colour combi with the sji shorts just made it look a bit weird hahaha!! decided to run on tuesdays and thursdays. with PE on monday and wednesday, and rest day on friday for saturday's npcc training activities.

monday's volleyball training was fun!!! we got pamela (this really short senior who derek and i stressed out on my 1st training), but this time was with brendan, bernard, alvin and derek. she kept laughing, i tell u i won't be surprised if she forms 8 pegs!!! :p after a while simon joined us and played continuous digging with us. pity him lah he must run so much :p tomorrow is trials, hopefully i can get in, otherwise i'll be officially school-based-CCA-less again... got npcc to count on, but that won't give me much, so gotta get one more CCA. really don't know what i'll join if i don't get into volleyball. :( so in other words... die die also must get into volleyball. Cheers!
