shock start...
due to my week of absence from school during week 3, all thanks to H1N1 (btw i'm still cursing the bugger who went out when he was sick... hoping he loses control of his bladder and wets his bed hahaha), i'm finding myself very very far behind in tutorials so far this sem. i'm guessing even if i wasn't sick i'd still be behind, but maybe not by such a large margin.
2001 - by the end of today i'll be lagging by 1.
2012 - this is the only one i'm up to date with, because we have to submit assignments the following week so i have no choice but to keep up with it. plus there's no exam.
2008 - i did get started on the first tut, but she hadn't gone much into it at that time. since then i haven't touched it at all. missing another one this afternoon. lagging by 3.
2007 - the lecturer goes damn freaking fast. only halfway through tut 1, which has 30 questions. this friday he's starting on tut 2. i have a hope of catching up with this one...
2010 - thermo... damn dry topic... not a bad lecturer, but i haven't done a single tut yet. lagging by 4. worst mod so far this sem.
i've got a lab report and a damn tough design assignment due next week. and if i'm not wrong, i'll have an assignment for my linguistics elective due next week too. i'll find out tomorrow. omg omg omg... if something big is due next week for tech comm then i'm shit screwed again. lab report on tuesday, elective assignment on wednesday, design and tech comm on thursday.
the reality of year 2 is sinking in. when they said it was tough, i was getting mentally prepared for it. but being away from school for a week completely threw me off track, and now it's running away from me very quickly. i'm doing all i can to catch up with it, and the only reason i'm blogging now is because i've got to make my weekly journey to the south in about 20 minutes. so in case i don't blog until after my CAs the following week, i'll know why next time.
oh yes another thing sucking my time up this sem is C1. learning to use solidworks for EID. i've spent about 7 hours in the comp lab so far, and done 71/120 pages of the manual. not bad la i guess, since they said about 15 hours was required. but i'm not sure if the 15 hours included the assignment we're supposed to do at the end of it. initially i was hoping to get this part out of the way ASAP, but it's taking up a hell lot of time that i could've used doing tuts. gotta reprioritise again. need to sacrifice my weekends too =(
on a positive note, wendy's sales are picking up!!! making quite good money! hahaha i'm very happy for her because she did put alot of effort into setting up her blogshop. good job baby! =) oh and she's started her job at recruit express too. so far it seems like the perfect work environment for her. only problem is the freezing cold aircon that can't be controlled. and her direct boss said she needs to exercise more!!! stupid boss... not everyone has to be as slim as u!!!
snapping back to reality, time to start chasing the semester...

holy crap!
this sem has turned out to be a very very very busy one. projects abound, tough things to try to absorb, and gotta figure out a new study time because i spend about 1.5 to 2 hours everyday on the road now. that's damn tiring. and i don't have an extended period where i can just sit down and study now. i at most have 2 hours here and there, but nothing solid. damn...
i picked up 2 interesting quotes over the past 2 days of lecture. the first came from my maths lecturer. he said...
"that's the interesting thing about maths. sometimes you may learn but you may not realise"
oh well... i guess that's true to a certain extent. another quote, i picked up from my friend after going through an hour and a half of thermo lecture.
"i feel like stabbing myself."
i guessed that sums it all up

back to the old school...
headed back to cj today, with the intention to play volleyball and to enjoy some good ol' cj canteen food. it was really hot today, but we still played for a while under the grandstand. and my god we can still play!!! hahaha by we i mean me, wendy, tini and cheryl. i was damn surprised cheryl came, because i haven't seen her since december! hahaha it didn't dawn on me that she's back until she sat in the car for like 2 minutes hahaha so it's like she was never really gone. maybe that's because i don't usually see her for long periods of time anyway =p and miss many yong! told us in the morning that the canteen was closed! so we were all kind of bummed out. but after volleyball, we decided to go to the canteen to buy some ice cold drinks from the vending machine, and lo and behold, the yong tau foo stall was open!!! along with 2 other stalls that we've never bothered about! hahaha clar came along just as we sat down under the fan to cool down, so the 5 of us enjoyed cj yong tau foo together =) it was nice! the person who runs the stall has changed, but it still brought back some memories. but i think the sad thing was, there were some kids who actually stayed back after the national day celebrations to study in the library. yes i know the A levels are coming, but come on... take a break la!!! those were probably the ones who were gunning for scholarships. well i'm sure all their hard work will pay off, but it pays to relax too.
after that it took us a while to figure out where to go, and we finally decided to go to tini's house! never been there before! dropped her off at home a handful of times, but never been inside. on the way to tini's house we dropped cheryl at home for her tennis lessons. at tini's place i figured out indian poker, and we played asshole daidee until 430. it was damn funny. got videos of forfeits for indian poker on wendy's phone. catch tini and wendy doing pushups, and all 4 of us doing starjumps hahaha totally random stuff. it was a simple and relaxing day =)
i got some funny elective for next sem. technologically speaking. well... honestly speaking i don't know what it's about. it was my third choice, and i only put it down for 2 good reasons. first, i needed to apply for at least 3 PEs to get priority, and second, it didn't clas with any of my cores, which i have no choice but to take. so i got this funny thing, and i have to decide fast whether i want to drop it or not, because add/drop period will be here soon and it won't be hanging out for long. but i most probably will s/u it. just hope i get S!
getting some jitters about starting school again. i'm taking the not-so-conventional route, for once in my life. i managed to get into the design stream, which only a small number of each cohort get into. so i don't really know what to expect, but i know what i hope to achieve at the end of it. somehow i feel like i'm starting uni all over again. if i stayed in mainstream i wouldn't be as worried hahaha oh well... stepping out of my shell is something i don't do too often, but i think it'll do me good =)

INSTEP/GIP?
school's going to start soon, and i've been getting emails about overseas study programmes. i'd like to go for one of them, but looks like will have to put alot of effort into finding out whether there are courses that suit what i want to take there. i'm aiming to go in the second semester. will have to find out more about them first. main target is the US. mainly because i speak the language! hahaha going to europe will be harder cos the better technological universities are either in germany or switzerland, which will pose a big language problem for me =p

new skin
as u can see... i've changed my blog skin hahaha why'd i do it? well the old one was... old. since i don't know when. and after helping wendy set up her blog shop, i realised the setting up of the template is much much easier than last time. it's all kind of automated and idiot proof now hahaha and i also learnt that livejournal is really hard to use. not very customisable, and it's hard to edit the html too. somehow...
hols will be over in 2 weeks. year 2 will be starting soon. what'd i do this holidays? hmmm... travelled to taiwan and genting. played alot of mahjong. played alot of guitar heroes. played god of war. played GTA4. drove alot. ran very little. read nothing. ate alot. need to do something with the movie posters i bought from taiwan, and finish up those wooden models. that'd take more time. and give me sore finger tips hahaha

coming and going...
more than half way through my holidays already. quite alot's been happening i guess. alot of people travelling all over the world! many went to spain & morocco, josh is now in US, shufang is in korea, tini is back but going to europe, don't know when cheryl's coming back, and i'm going taiwan and genting!!! t19 is going all over the world man. by august, only joshua will be left overseas. no more parties at his house till mid-september... bummer.
wendy and i just rushed our taiwan planning. planned for 8 days in 1. hahaha later on this morning going to book the hostels and train tickets. surprisingly the hostels in the main cities are cheaper than those in the outskirts. probably competition pushing the prices down. i hope all goes well! the main 2 things we'll be doing is cycling and shopping. it'll be a tiring holiday hahaha
my 1st manning period since ord has officially started. haven't packed my fullpack yet though =X i think some of the packs should be the same since 4sab, but still gotta check through. M.A.F.A.N!
results for special sem coming out this friday. so fast. hardly got over the studying mood and the results are out already. i just hope i can get an A. did well for my presentations, but for the final paper, i really don't know how to judge how i did. i wrote alot. but alot of it could be crap. we'll see.
swine flu is causing all sorts of problems nowadays. i hope nothing major happens between now and the 2nd before i fly to taiwan, otherwise my mum won't leave me in peace.
oh yeah my dad finally got a new TV at home! we both just overrided our mum's decision to use the old (and small) tv in the living room, and got a 42-inch one heehee SHIOK! but technology moves damn fast. by next IT show the same tv probably cost a few hundred less. oh well...
speaking of IT show, i went for the latest IT show 3 out of the 4 days. 1st 2 days was scouting for tv. 4th day, wendy just wanted bargains, and i guess she got them hahaha helped her buy some other non-IT stuff on one of the days too. damn embarrassing =( don't think i'll be buying that again soon.
saw an updated version of the netbook that wendy has. she's got the S10. the S10-2 is out. what an innovative name. the looks give the HP mini a run for it's money. the keyboard is much improved, and the skin is niceeeeeeeeee. alot of style fused into the latest one. looks good!
today... going gym, going to the frame shop, going to dinner with t19 @ taka, and maybe mahjong? hahaha

hard work pays off
so i'm into week 4 of my hols already. almost through with my marketing module for special sem. so far i've had 2 presentations. 2 more to go. 4 presentations in 4 weeks. and they're all graded. W.T.F. talk about stressing us out. but then again... i guess this is the more practical way of learning? so maybe it's more efficient. better than just learning all the theories and not knowing what it's about. this was the main reason why i wanted to clear this module during special sem anyway, so that i wouldn't have to contend with all the presentations during normal sem. good call on my behalf! hahaha
results came out on friday. still didn't get any As. sian. got 3 A- and 3 B+. overall happy la of course!!! considering i thought i totally flunked my physics and i've never taken chemistry before. have to say thanks to my neighbours yonglim and lawrence for all the chem help. otherwise i don't think i could've gotten B+. so now my cgpa is 3.70... up from 3.38. good enough for me. got chance to get second upper alr!!! hahaha i hope i feel the same way at this time next year, after the killer second year is over.
wendy's in the middle of her exams too. jiayou baby!!! only one more paper to go =) then when she's done i'll have my exam. was hoping to be able to go overseas this hol. stupid swine flu. oh sorry... can't call it swine flu anymore. must call it AH1N1 virus. stupid A.H.1.N.1. virus...

holz?
time to look back on my 1st year in uni. no longer a freshman... didn't even feel very "fresh" hur hur... anyway it really passed by in a flash. suddenly year 1 is over and i'm going into the hardest year in all 4 years. the last round of exams were supposed to be my easiest in all the 4 years. only 3 cores... with an elective that's supposed to be damn easy for me. in the end i totally f-ed up my physics paper. don't know what i was doing. stared at the question for an hour, when i knew the formula to use all along, but just didn't think about putting it down. exam strategy 101... when you can't think of the answer, go to the toilet to freshen up and stretch. so simple, but somehow i didn't do it. not used to going to the toilet during exams i guess. but... i really felt damn freaking emo that day after the paper. i even dreamt of writing the correct answer that afternoon. talk about stress.
anyway my sis is back. ok not for much longer, since she's flying off on wednesday early morning again. since she came back i've been eating, eating, and eating. had popiah for 3 nights (leftovers la...), 2 buffets? and later tonight going to a jap restaurant. my stomach has like... tripled in size since after the exams? eat eat eat... after she goes back need to start exercising already, since i intend to clear my ippt during this holiday. then i can just keep doing it for the next few years so i don't have to worry about training during school semester.
swine flu... stupid pigs. intended to fly to taiwan with wendy for her grad trip. and suay suay the flu came, so i'm banned from travelling. wtf. and now wendy's sick. for quite a few days already. i hope she gets better soon because her exams are coming!!! will try to drag her to the polyclinic tomorrow morning. i hope she gets well soon. GET WELL SOON BABY!!!

L.O.V.E.
Love is patient; love is kind;
love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends.
But as for prophecies, they will come to an end;
as for tongues, they will cease;
as for knowledge, it will come to an end...
And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three;
and the greatest of these is
love.
(NRSV, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, 13)

i've found love. it's a wonderful feeling. but it's also there for me to lose. all or nothing...

it's come and gone in a flash. i still remember going on the singapore flyer with wendy last year, having the whole cabin to ourselves, and the surprise t19 gave me . suddenly i'm having dinner at sofra. it's always fun to meet up with the class of course. never a quiet moment... unless we don't get what someone is talking about.

bloody crap
last night i wrote my longest program ever. today for my quiz, it was about the same length, but it had the most errors i'd ever seen in my life! like 20+ errors and 10 warnings? basket... so slowly sift through them one by one. in the end my program worked fine. BUT... i overlooked one small part of the question. stupid cock eyed shit.

what's with all the rain?
i'm at home now. what a miracle hahaha well wendy rented a car today for her dad to drive around, so i'm home to practice computing for tomorrow's quiz. didn't want to bring my laptop into hall, because i know with it there with me, i'd do everything EXCEPT study.
with all the rain coming down on us recently, i'm finding it really hard to study. everytime it rains i just somehow drop my pen and find myself thinking about what else i could be doing out there. and after i think for a while, i'll soon be dozing off on my table, and probably (hopefully not) drooling on my painstakingly handwritten notes. really not much mood to study this sem. but i don't have a choice. with a gpa of 3.38... i'm knee deep in shit already as it is.
well 3 more years of exams during my birthday. i guess i don't feel so bad, since the "thrill" of birthdays for me has died off a while ago. whatever the case is... still not as bad as minghao and derek la. 2 exam papers on your birthday? nothing worse than that. ok la... i guess 3 papers on your birthday will be bad. but 3 papers on any given day is already hell-on-earth in itself.
onward to computing!!!
int main(void)
{
float gpa;
printf("Enter your current GPA => ");
scanf("%lf", &gpa);
if (gpa > 4.5)
printf("well done! you rock man! \n");
if (gpa > 4.0 && gpa < 4.5)
printf("not bad la... just work harder to pull it up to 2nd upper. \n");
if (gpa > 3.5 && gpa < 4.0)
printf("wah jialat. chiong all the way!!! \n");
if gpa > 3.0 && gpa < 3.5)
printf("i'll pray for you...");
return 0;
}

happening week
this will probably be the most happening week i'll have in my first year in ntu.
on tuesday went to meet t19 to eat at the coffeeshop at holland drive. after tt went to haagen daaz at holland v for some ice cream. kept wanting to eat the you tiao cos it was nice. got back to hall abt 1130? did a chem tut before heading to bed.
last night many came to visit ntu. we went for a run. i died on the slope. haven't run that way for damn long. usually only run 3.6km. so ya... i died. damn jialat. had dinner at my hall canteen, where koon and many were getting high on guessing whose food would come first. while they were getting high, clar and i already finished our dinners =p since the function hall hadn't opened yet, went to koon's room for a while, since the girls hadn't been there before. their room has like 10k worth of equipment more than mine. i think my room is probably the barest in the whole of ntu halls. no fridge. no tv. no laptop. hardly anything in our cupboards. the most expensive thing i have there is probably... my maths textbook hahaha my legs cramped up during badminton, probably cos i didn't stretch after the run. but still managed to play a few games. left early to have a shower since we were gg out for supper. went to ah lian, where we talked about the ah lians there for a while =p did alot more talking than eating. really talked about alot of things. only possible in smaller groups i guess. on the way back in ntu, i drove many's manual car for a while. i was really very happy that i could still drive a manual car quite smoothly. the roughest part was when koon slapped the dashboard and i did an e-brake on a slope. my first time hahaha and the car didn't stall. only "casualty" during that process was clar. for some reason her shoulder really hurt after that. don't know why. went through 1.5 chapters of chem before i went to sleep.
tonight i'll be meeting most of the guys from my signals course who are also studying in ntu, for dinner. in total there should be 11 of us in ntu. not bad. that's about 1/4 of my entire batch's size hahaha hopefully tonight i'll be able to finish one more chem tut. and maybe get started on my next physics tut.
exams in 5.5 weeks. i've been doing more consistent work this sem as compared to last sem, but i really don't know if it's going to be enough.
why do i get the feeling like she thinks she's the only one studying, even though i've been working since week 2 of january. what's there to get upset about? i've set my study timetable, and thus far i'm still sticking to it, very well. somehow i don't think she's very happy about our new agreement, even though she says she is. last night, she wanted to go to sleep because she had to wake up early this morning. like 6am kind of early. so i ended our conversation and hung up so that she could sleep, but then she got upset because she thought that i didn't want to talk to her. uhhh... so what exactly does she want? sometimes i really don't know. but please don't take it out on me no matter how stressed you are from studying. afterall... your exams are further away than mine. getting on each others' nerves doesn't help the situation. we're in this together. we'll get out of this together.

one week before friday the 13th
it wasn't a good day for a few people i know. many, clar and i all went through bad tests. the only good thing is that i don't think i'm the only one that found my chem test hard. 10 mcqs in 20 minutes? rush like crazy man. but rushing meant not being able to think properly. so that didn't work out too well in the end. oh well... tomorrow night guitar heroes to rejuvenate me for the coming week i guess. something different than staring at black and white sheets of paper all day long. doesn't help that my calculator is kind of grey too. then again... so is my phone, my pencil box, my socks... hmmm...
something my physics tutor told us. which does apply sometimes i guess.

chem & superpowers
just finished doing another set of online chem assessments. since i've decided not to buy the textbook, at least i managed to find another source of questions for me to try. got some i don't know how to do so i'm gg to interrogate my neighbour later. both of them took chem at A levels hahaha whereas me and my roomie... physics maths econs =p so he can't really help me as much in this area
was talking to my roomie last night before i went to bed about... what kind of superpower would i want the most. after watching all the x-men shows and heroes and stuff like that, i think what i'd like most is the ability to healing factor. imagine... never having to worry about cuts and broken bones getting infected. everything gets healed in an instant. just make sure you don't get shot in the head and you'll probably live for a very very long time. then we kind of talked about whether, with the healing ability, we would ever grow old and die. because technically your cells can regenerate so fast, that anything that's damaged will be replaced in a flash. my roomie chose the ability to fly. that'd be cool too, but if were to choose an ability where i could go to places conveniently, i'd choose the ability that the guy in the movie 'Jumper' had. just seeing the place in a picture will be more than enough for you to teleport there instantly. no more traffic jams, no more erp hahaha
then we moved on to how the ability to read peoples' minds like professor X could, and the ability to look into the near future. like just an hour. i guess being able to see into your near future is alot less invasive. depending on the kind of power you hold in society, the most i would be able to do with that ability is to prevent myself from falling down or getting into any accidents. the really cool thing about being able to see into the near future is that you can be king of one-man sports! like boxing, badminton, tennis and so on. you will be able to read your opponent in advance, with an infinite amount number of possibilities and just take him out in a couple of minutes! hahaha how cool would that be man...
but the thought of being able to read other peoples' minds is really quite scary. aside from the fact that it's really... really tempting to do it, you might be able to use words to twist that person you're targeting. because you know how he thinks and you know what he wants, so it's possible to manipulate people in that way. of course it all depends on how smooth you are with words. but between these 2, i'd rather see the future hahaha even if for 5 minutes =p at least you'll know beforehand if something really bad is going to happen to you or someone close to you, and maybe can do something to prevent it.
i feel like playing guitar heroes again. aahhh!!!! exams in 5 weeks!!!

laptopless
since i don't bring my laptop into hall anymore, i've decided to use my hall's comp room. the msn is a damn freaking old version, and typing on this keyboard is really noisy, so it's a bit embarrassing if i press too hard, but no matter how lightly i try to press it's just damn noisy =p
i'm not here to waste time. i'm supposed to be doing chemistry. so i guess i better go do chemistry hahaha

i haven't blogged for ages, mainly because i didn't have the mood to. that and i've been coming back to hall with no laptop, so as to aid my studying process hahaha it's definitely been working much harder than last semester at this point of time. from last semester i've really learnt the importance of quizzes. so this time, i'm really making a marked effort this time to improve my gpa. no choice already. gpa is only 3.38 now. like shit. and i already calculated, even if i got A for every module i'm taking this sem, my gpa will only be 3.75. still like shit. it's gg to be damn hard for me to get 2nd upper already. but still going to try to push for it. otherwise my honours will just be a useless piece of crap.
i actually added this paragraph after i finished typing. since it's a really long post, here's a summary so you can read what you want to hahaha
the weather --> 3 accidents --> my samsung phone --> transformers 2 --> guitar heroes --> green toenail --> inspiring story. just to help you along =)
as you probably know, it's been raining like crazy for the past 2 days. welcome relief from the heat i must say. but i don't think we have much right to complain about the heat, since the temperature here is still below 35 degC. the people in auzzieland were burning their asses off in 47 degC heat. don't know how the hell they survive man. anyway as i was driving along the roads today in the rain, i encountered 3 accidents.
accident 1:
location: split road on lornie road flyover to braddell road flyover
vehicle: dark blue mercedes benz
my POV: the bugger was probably talking on the phone or dozing off. because he knocked down all the warning poles on the chevron and completely crushed the metal girders. i guess the guy wasn't alright, because there was an ambulance there when i went past him. i still maintain my stand that mercedes drivers are bad drivers hahaha
accident 2:
location: upper thomson road outside thompson plaza
vehicle: old motorcycle
my POV: i was driving in the middle lane when suddenly everyone braked quite hard. i managed to cut out into the right lane and keep going. as i drove past i saw a guy trying to crawl up from the floor with his motorbike lying on the ground. i don't know if he got knocked by the lorry right behind him, but he really was hardly moving.
accident 3:
location: upper bukit timah flyover
vehicle: white hyundai avante
my POV: it wasn't raining already, but this guy had crashed into the wall and spun around, with his front completely smashed in. both guys were alright as one of them was waving traffic to keep left, and the other one was probably calling his insurance agent and a tow truck at the same time. that was probably just very very bad driving.
so moral of the story my friends, is to always slow down and drive slowly when it's raining so damn heavily!!! because sometimes you really just cannot see what's in front of you and end up driving into the road divider, or your car might just skid and something really bad will happen. oh and please switch on your headlights. there are some morons out there who don't even on their low beams when it's raining so freaking heavily. let me be very frank and say... YOU GUYS ARE BLOODY IDIOTS!!! *sigh* it's not just about you being able to see in front of you. it's about other people being able to see you in their rain soaked wing mirrors through their wet windows. and it's not as if you'll use more petrol when you on your lights. don't think you're so cool just because you can drive in the rain without your headlights on. it doesn't matter if you've got a doctorate or have a medical degree. it just shows that you're a moron.
now that i've done my public advisory notice, let's talk about samsung again hahaha yes... my phone gave me problems again =p if you've been reading my blog regularly, you would've probably remembered me cursing and swearing at samsung because the new phone i got from them was giving me so much problems. this time, the screen completely died on me. so i couldn't see ANYTHING! when i wanted to call someone i had to type in the number really carefully and press dial hahaha i think many tried to call me, so i didn't know who it was, but based on the ringtone i set i knew it was someone from t19 =p so i had to travel to ps and that same old samsung service centre again to repair it. luckily it's still under warranty, so i didn't have to pay for anything, except for parking. the only good thing is that it was done in a day, so i could get it back quite quickly. but i'm quite certain, that when my current plan allows me to get another phone at a discounted price, i'm going to get a nokia candybar music phone hahaha NO MOVING PARTS!!! and i realise i listen to music on my phone more than i take pictures, so a music phone would be better for me. viva la nokia! =p
after watching the trailer for the new transformers movie, i must say i CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH IT!!! my god it looks so damn juicy!!! looks much darker than the 1st one though, but who cares!!! same case, and soooo many more robots!! any hot blooded male will want to watch that show man!! so kewllll!!!!
last friday i had a sudden craving for guitar heroes. my hands really got damn itchy and i kept imagining playing the songs hahaha being in hall, i had no choice. so i went home and quickly started playing, and borrowed josh's world tour too. then my dad got me the guitar-game set as an early birthday present. woohoo!!! so now if got class party josh only has to bring the drums and mic over hahaha less work for him. but my earlier guitar is starting to show signs of going numb. sian.
oh yes... my dear toenail. in short, it turned green and freaked my mum out hahaha but it actually was just dried blood that changed colour due to pigmentation. i hope the doctor was right =p and i hope it comes off soon. i really wanted to go sentosa during this one week break, but sadly i'm afraid sand will get underneath it and it'll really get infected, or even worse it might just fly off. i don't wanna imagine that happening, because it's going to hurt like hell. not like i know how painful hell is, but... yeah you get the point.
now for an inspiring story to end off this blog post. any of you watched this year's nba slamdunk contest? this man... 1.75m tall nate robinson, jumped over a man 2.1m tall to dunk the ball. now think about the adidas slogan... "impossible is nothing". that is damn inspiring man. no matter how difficult an obstacle might look, just think of a way to work around it, or in this case, jump over it =)

$$$
just came back from a run. 1st time i've run so early in ntu hahaha ran the bus B route, which is abt 3.5km the last time i measured. basically i chased after a couple that overtook me while i was stretching. i think i run faster when i've got an objective. so i think this is the fastest i've ever run this distance hahaha and i think running with music makes me run slower too =p spend too much time enjoying the music until cannot focus on running properly hahaha oh well... all this is for the hong bao from the government. only thing i'm really worried about now is the situps, because they use this new machine where your elbows really have to touch your knees, otherwise it won't count. gone are those cheating days in secondary school and jc where ur elbows never EVER go anywhere near your knees hahaha damn it! stupid machines... then the pti can really stare at you doing your situps. so stress... wonder if i still can jump properly or not. so long never jump already... shuttle run should be ok la. i just want the money!!! hahaha
going for my first block supper later. skipped the last 2 because i simply had other plans hahaha but tonight i made myself free for it. just go for it once la. cannot be so outsider here =p not that i intend to stay in hall (which right now is virtually impossible), but just have some fun in hall la. otherwise stay here for what right hahaha
hope wendy's ankle gets better soon... looks damn scary. i hope i never sprain my ankle. i like my ankles too much hahaha

some random thoughts
initially had quite alot of little itty-bitty stuff to write about, but suddenly it's kind of blur in my head... hmmm... maybe it'll come back to me as i keep typing. this is just another absolutely random post.
my nose started running suddenly today. maybe it didn't want to go to school either. so i just took a 2++ hour nap. it still feels a little on edge, like anything could set it off again, but i'm trying to control it. it's kind of got a mind of it's own. maybe if i cross my eyes long enough and keep staring at it then it'll behave itself hahaha i wish...
i'm feeling the pressure piling on already even though school just started. my roomie's gpa is 3.6, my neighbour is 4.3, which is one whole point above mine. he got A for all his 3 cores. my god... 2 Cs can really screw up your gpa. even though i was really determined not to get another C after my maths 1 screw up in special sem, i'm just happy i passed the stupid life science. at least i don't have to take it again. somehow computing and chemistry don't seem as big a problem for me as life science, so i'm going to push for As. i mean... i've only got 3 cores this sem, so if i don't do well i can go shoot myself in both my feet, smash my face against the wall and throw myself off a cliff (assuming i can find a cliff nearby). or maybe i can just stand in the live firing range, since it's just across the road from my hall WAHAHAHAHA
chinese new year is coming!!!!!!!!!! even though my family isn't really supposed to celebrate this year, but somehow we're still getting invitations for lunches and dinners. don't understand why... but oh well. but before i can enjoy all the hearty (i.e. extremely unhealthy) cny goodies, i need to pass my ippt and get a $200 hongbao from the government! hahaha since it's set aside for us, just take it! but i need to do alot more training. haven't been running since before my exams? holy crap that's damn long ago... *shakes head* can start tonight. since studies aren't in high key yet, can train more. make myself shag it's ok. can spend more time running also. just need to get my stamina up and burn off this hideous thing that's been accumulating slightly north of my waist =p 200 DOLLARSSSSS!!!!
my timetable this sem is much better than last sem. no more 830 lessons on monday mornings. instead i start at 1130. how shiok is that. of course it's not as good as arts people who can have 3 day weeks and stuff, but at least mine's rather spread out. oh and i got a good elective too!!! from what i've seen so far it's basically everything i learnt in physics last sem. so... if i don't get A i can do to myself whatever i mentioned above in paragraph 3 hahaha
ahhh my nose just leaked a little again... crap.
i think the only people who aren't affected by the economic crisis are epl players. they're still earning hundreds of thousands of pounds per week??? that's how much some people in their whole lifetime? so screwed up man. it's like some part of the world revolves around them, that's why they're not affected at all. even F1 has been affected. cost cutting measures that will result in cars becoming more equal? it'll be like the A1 series soon man. that'll be so sad!!! can't imagine force india winning F1 championship.
slowly singaporeans are becoming more affected by global events. rarely did we hear of singaporeans dying in overseas places. the most brutal and tragic was that of miss lo in mumbai, and most recently, the 3 deaths at a club in bangkok. not a good start to the new year. last year alone, i attended 4 funerals. 3 of which were my family members. that was more than i've attended in the previous 20 years of my life all added together. i hope i don't have to attend anymore funerals for a long time to come.

back to school
happy new year everyone. i'm back in hall now. school starts again tomorrow. results were alright i guess. an improvement is not bad already. got a really long way to go if i want something credible out of these 4 years. going to have to push really hard.
just a short post because i need to bathe before the hot water goes off, and i have lessons tomorrow hahaha in case any of you are wondering what's with the emo songs, don't read too much into it. this is just a freaking nice song hahaha
