infantry to the end...
checked my posting this morning, and now i'm on my way to sispec to be an infantry leader. at first when i saw the word sispec for my posting, i felt kinda disappointed, but when i saw my vocation as infantry leader, my heart skipped a few beats. after that images of me running around in the jungle, with the infamous sbo helmet rifle and camo all on me, for the rest of my time in army. man that was horrible. trying to fathom how much camo cream and insect repellent i'll be using over the next year.
then after that started to find out where everyone else was going. alot of people are going where we never thought they would. louis is going to scdf man!!! wtf... from ninja company and ippt gold, going to scdf. he'll definitely be an officer there. couple of combat medics, 2 signallers from my section, and 3 other guys from my section who're in the same boat as me. so i'll be seeing them in sispec on monday morning.
going to sispec wouldn't have been so bad if i got to arti or armour at least. then i could have a chance to learn something new and INTERESTING. going to infantry would be like going to bmt again, only that it's tougher lah obviously. but there's nothing exciting to learn about! ok lah probably get to use the SAR21 and have to clean it over and over again, but what else is so exciting? haiz...
anyway i've told myself that there's nothing i can do about it now, since bmt is long over and the next part of my life is about to begin. and seeing as how NS is just a short 2 year phase in my life, i should just focus on getting it over with. but then again, i don't think i'd want to stay in sispec throughout. if i do well enough i might just get posted to OCS midway through. that'd be cool if i could do that. just gotta try my best now and pray that they like my psychological profile enough to put me in ocs hahaha
yesterday she left for bangkok to go shopping with her friends. yet again, part of me wanted to let her go, and part of me didn't want to. watching her walk away as she went to join her friends to check in her luggage, i felt the loneliness in me grow gradually. i know that from now onwards i won't be able to spend as much time with her as i did even in bmt. i'm definitely going to be more tired and less able to go out. and because i'm more tired, it could make me more edgy, but i hope that that wouldn't be the case. just hope that she's enjoying herself now before she has to come back to work then after that off to further studies for her. hope the day will quickly come when we can really spend time together again.

"DAMN IT!"
i exclaimed that countless times today. at first it was because of the horrendous weather. when we reached the beach station it starting pouring cats and dogs. i mean it rained until the brand new roof at the beach station started leaking pretty badly. there was one humongous leak in the middle of no where and rain was coming down as if it was a rain gutter or something. plus ger and soph were really late. so wendy, lina and i spent about 1.5 hours standing arnd waiting for them as kids played with all the water on the floor thanks to the "rain gutter"
so yeah we did go to play in the end. as predicted it was cold. but not to the extent that one would shiver. at first it was really shitty man. that's when the damn its started hahaha couldn't even dig properly at first. after a while the digging and setting got ok. then came the part for me to spike. oh man it was horrigible at first hahaha the ball didn't even wanna go straight, much less over the net and in =P but things got really fun when we changed to a less hole-y net. and why did it get fun? because the net was LOWER!!! just what a confidence ridden guy needs in volleyball hahaha after that spiking the ball was a really shiok feeling. it never once failed to go over after that hahaha i really love the feeling of flying through the air with the wind below your feet, raising up the arm and just whacking the ball down with a nice loud "PIAK" hahaha really a damn nice feeling when you see the ball spinning nicely and going straight for the ground. WOOHOO!!! hahaha
off to chalet tomorrow! anything to contact me about just sms me...

totally random and unchronological stuff...
ok now i'm wondering if i spelt unchronological correctly... damn it! after bmt... i realise that now more than ever, i spend more time thinking about whether words i've typed are spelt correctly, and trying to figure out the right word to use in certain sentences. the word is always in the back of my mind, but i just can't bring it to the front. so i spend some time staring at the screen, trying to figure out what on earth that word is. sad to say, most of the time i just come up with another phrase to replace that one word. point is... army has made me slower. hopefully it only happens for the bmt phase. because if this occurs over the rest of army, i'm severely screwed. really starting to wonder how much of my physics and maths i'll remember from jc after 2 years. i can hardly remember my english! =(
up till now i can't find the cable for my video camera, and that really sucks coz i can't transfer the video to my comp. a handful of people have asked for the video already, and i can't give it to them!!! if i don't find it by tomorrow, then i'll only be able to send the video thursday or later. damn that sucks. wonder if i can buy the cable from anywhere...
tomorrow i'll be going to sentosa for some volleyball. finally. as (thinks of word for a while) unexcited (don't know what better word to use) as i might sound, i'm looking forward to it. i'm just tired. after sleeping at 2230 every night for 2 months and waking up at 0515 every morning, your body tends to adjust. and now sleeping at 2 plus every night is seriously screwing me up. surprisingly now it's only about 11.20. this is like the earliest night i've had at home since POP hahaha ok lah the reason is quite obvious. coz tonight i'm not out with wendy =p
and i think i really need to start exercising. don't wanna get rusty after all the training in bmt. then when i go to wherever i'm posted, i'll have to try harder all over again. now that's not very good... not good at all. even a simple jog will do for me. but with me sleeping at such wee hours, it'll be hard to find a good time to run. and i really need to work on my abs too... since i've POP-ed, i've eaten macs 3 times, burger king 2 times and pizza hut one time hahaha all the oil and fat is coming back to me. but then again i could just say that i'm enjoying now.
i'm feeling tired, but i also don't feel like sleeping. i bet if i lay down somewhere now i would fall asleep, but somehow i'd much rather stay awake. my mind is getting messed up. oh and i need to help chip find my driving theory books. honestly i have no clue at all where i put them. for all i know they could be in some box, but i still have to try to find it. how grand. i've already tried the more obvious places, and i don't know where else to start looking. this is a really sucky feeling... the mind is willing but the body is weak. actually, more like the mind is willing but seriously lost.
ahhh i feel a bit better after all that crap came out of me. still alot more to say, but it's just not coming to my mind now. ciao for now...

the best falcon company they've known!!!
drill squad champions. soccer fever champions. ultimate frisbee champions. tug of war 2nd runner up. school 1 games day runaway champions. least number of OOTs. not bad for a company which has never won games day before and came in 2nd last for drill competition last batch. but then again i think our company is just really talanted this time around. got national frisbee player in my platoon and lots of people with drill experience. the fancy drill performance at POP was really damn nice. watched the video a few times over already, and could only spot 1 really outstanding mistake. the rest were too quick to notice, unless you're looking at each person particularly to spot their mistakes. at least i didn't make any mistakes heehee if anyone wants the video just tag me. i'll try to send it to you somehow
training for that fancy drill routine was no joke though. those with experience took a month of training to master it. we had less than a week. together with GP rehearsals, i did a total of about 35 hours of drills in 4 days. never thought i could do so much drills in my entier life hahaha but yah i did... and it felt really good to see the finished product at the end of it all
the parade itself went along great. just that the infantry roar was done really damn quickly, so no one could understand a word hahaha saw it on the video lah. after we threw our caps we really went nuts man. starting jumping around, shouting "POP LOH!!!" and "PRIVATE LOH!!!" hahaha then after a while we starting jumping around together and just chanted "POP! POP! POP!" basically absolute chaos hahaha took lots and lots of pictures. will try to upload all of them soon. was really all smiles all the way =)
so with POP, BMT comes to a close. no more tekong (hopefully), no more platoon 3 section 2 bed 6. will take on a new identity in terms of PSB in 11 days time. reporting to new unit on 19 june. hopefully i can get to OCS. if i can't, then i've only got myself to blame i guess. training in both OCS and SISPEC is tough, but what you do after that is really different. hopefully i can make it to the former. even though it wouldn't be easy training, but tough training only makes you improve as a person. and everyone needs to improve. there's no doubt about that.
11 more days to book in hahaha as many put it... relax sleep slack rest play. that's all that's on my list for the next 11 days =)

4 more days to POP!!!
it seems all so fast. 2 months is gone just like that. a hell lot faster than school. can imagine how fast these 2 years in army will go. past week was really tiring. not mentally but physically. wednesday was 24 click route march. and that night i only had 5 hours of sleep. on thursday i did about 6 hours of drills? yeah then with 7 more hours of sleep, on thursday i had about 8 more hours of drills. yes so now i'm shagged hahaha the sole of my left foot and the back of both my knees are a bit strained, but i think the rest this weekend should allow them to recuperate. oh yeah and tuesday took my 3rd and final ippt. first 2 i failed coz of my 2.4 hahaha damn jialat. too long never run already. 1st one was 13.28 i think. 2nd one was 12.27. 3rd and final one was 11.16. wah siao liao. really run until i wanted to die hahaha so i set my personal best timing in bmt, and got ippt silver. not bad... considering at first i would've been happy with just a pass. but one of the AGRs gave me more confidence, because i really ran it all the way through, when usually i struggle a little bit. so i just threw everything on the board for this final ippt. best shuttle run timing, most pullups, best broadjump and best 2.4 timing. only thing i couldn't really improve on was my situps. still damn jialat hahaha BUT!!! i still can't get my broadjump back to standard lah! either the mats are of different length, or my technique is really gone. used to jump 255 with ease in jc, but now only managed a 234 =X best ever in jc was 264. something is really wrong man hahaha must be the lack of volleyball. i think all the jumping to spike the damn ball makes a difference
POP day... will be an exciting day. will be doing fancy drill for an audience for the first time. heck bmt was the first time i took part in a drill competition too! hahaha do drills to warm up the crowd, then run back to contingent, put on sbo and helmet and get ready to march in again. sure shagged out man =p thank god we're the last company to march in. so can even make final adjustments while we begin to march hahaha but it will be a sad occasion, because gone will be the slack days of NS hahaha
